Namaste,

This is in reference to the current tack of Madam Sir and Karishma Singh's twin sister track.

What on earth is the current track about?! Is this their limited knowledge about their own country?

Is there a way to reach the production house, makers, writers of how they portray people of their own country in the name of comedy?

It's high time they wake up and open their eyes to the realities.

Totally. It saddens to see that we

1. Have no knowledge of another state if our own country.

2. Find it cool to make a mockery of it in the name of comedy.

These kinds of stereotyping Has to stop.

I absolutely agree. I was furious at them when they did the same for the Korean language, a fellow forum member has been pissed at them for doing the same for the Cantonese/Chinese language and now they are seemingly making a mess of their own nation's language! This is definitely not a comedy. I have always said that language is a huge part of a culture and ethnicity hence thorough research is always required to portray them onscreen without hurting sentiments. Such things are not fun for me either.

I am not able to understand the context, can you please explain in detail what has happened?

The track is of Karishma Singh's twin who ran away from home because she wanted to make a career in movies.

She lands up in Chennai and is a big "item girl" in the South Industry and is eager to make a name in Hindi films.

Guess you need to see to believe the portrayal.

My work schedule doesn't allow me to watch anything live.

So, it's more often than not on sonyliv or hotstar and on Fastforward šŸ˜„.

About the twin character picking up an accent in Madam Sir, 2 things:

a. this "accent" is a result of an age old "stereotype"

b. About she being old enough to pick up an accent, it is i guess similar to people who travel the west for a month and pick up an accent. Wonder how they justify her mannerisms.

Just by the way, I live in Southern India myself and haven't noticed anyone like that.

Regardless, it is outright offensive.

Don't worry no, character on Television anymore is relatable and relevant. Vanraj Shah in Anupama is no different. I wonder who is the hero of the show. There is only 1 hero: Anupama.
