I think it's the lack of strong side characters and parallel tracks. Look at the time spent compared to other shows. Anupama has the highest and from my personal experience, I can say that the show has more than Anupama-Anuj on offer. Imlie doesn't. It lives and dies by Arylie.

IMO, Imlie writers needs to develop the positive side-characters like Sundar and Arpita and Narmada and give them more to do. Malini-AC is clearly a flop. Audience doesn't care about these two "classy villains". I guess audience just watch the Arylie scenes and move on. I can't blame them since I tend to do the same. There is only so much of Malini-AC's misplaced smugness that I can take. Audience tends to love clever, charismatic villains but these two are neither yet they keep getting away with all their audacious behavior. Why would the audience tune in for that?
