I just feel in the US people aren’t that exposed or interested in brown culture unless it’s to appropriate desi traditions and practices aka yoga. Yeah you might have hits like Bridgerton and Never Have I Ever with glimpses of desiness but really the surrounding love interests or whatverr have to be palatable to their tastes.
In the UK that’s not entirely true as they are way more in tune with desis being a massive part of their society and their politics.
That being said, I like marvel action flicks as movies only because man oh man how many shows of superheroes can I watch with the same premise: deadly attack on world by different villains over many episodes. Two hours in a movie alright but an entire show on the same mundane threat across shows. Hard pass. I prefer zombies or true crime or other scifi/fantasy shows in this regard tbh.
