It is based on archaic notions that men can have sex without strings, but women cannot and women cannot be promiscuous because you don't know which man is the father. Women are equally capable of having sex without strings and men can totally form an emotional bond even if they thought it was just sex. Simple DNA tests can determine paternity. And for many women paternity is irrelevant as they feel capable of raising children on their own.

Historically men have been cheaters. There are many mentions of multiple wives, red light areas, kothaa, harem, nagarvadhu, etc. existing since ages. This shows physical infidelity always existed for men.

So is it basic nature of men to be cheaters?

My sister is doctor and she said men r naturally like that because a man can fertilize an egg after every few hours but women has to go through a month cycle. This physiology makes them different. Cheating exists in humans because it's our value system. Animals have multiple partners. It's human society which is made like one man should be with one woman but naturally humans too r animals.
