ITV ki deviyan- FLs

So basically every ITV show starts with the FL being lovely, ambitious and strong. Even is she's not show physically strong, she's shown effing strong mentally. But as soon as the show hits the marriage track, the FL becomes a dumb driven Barbie doll. She's always blamed no matter what on earth happens. The ML basically never ever supports the FL and when he does he gets hurt.

Even after all the shit the in laws do to the FL, she never leaves that house. She never complains. BUT she's still STIROONG, mark my words she's STIROONG AND NOR STRONG. The FL's spark is just an invited guest for first 2-3 episodes only to serve aesthetics and nothing else. The first episode starts with the FL saying "main apne sapne pure karke hi rahungi" and the show ends with the FL being a very happy and prosperous housewife. WHY?! Some of the shows get in the polygamous husband tracks and make the FL cry buckets. Some of the shows even show the FL get r*ped, only to show her breaking down so that the ML can sooth her.

While all these sound pretty good to a romance slowburn fan it's hurtful to see the FL always being in pain.

Some of the producers feel FLs doing heavy stunts and giving lectures throughout the episodes make them seem savage and powerful. Now the result is nothing but the FL sounds boring and arrogant.

So either ITV shows won't show the FL strong at all or they'll show them powerful to such an extent that the characters would loose their real essence, sound boring and unrealistic

Firstly I would like to agree to disagree with the title Devi because in Indian Mythology devis never beared anything wrong whereas ITV shows FLs bearing all the wrongdoings in the name of love or family. Sita left her husband when he questioned her dignity and Draupadi vowed for vengeance from wrongdoers who were her family members only.

Now coming to the stereotypical portrayal of ITV FLs, let's just it's a vicious circle. Producers think that audience won't accept the change and audience keep cribbing about the run off the mill content. So where and when exactly the change will come from. The major fault lies with producers and the system only. If all channels collectively decide to give up on the current content and bring in a fresh set of shows maybe we can finally see the change we are waiting for.
