Don't know why the movie flopped....sometimes it happens....a good movie fails and a bokwaas one is a blockbuster......but I just love this movie....and this was one of SRK's hottest looks..❤️

Asoka's story could have been shown spectacularly starting from being an unwanted child of a commoner to becoming the emperor of the larger India subcontinent through bloodshed to relinquishing violence and choosing dhamma in his latter life. But instead they chose to make a B grade p*rno with fictional love story.

Also, aa per edicts and ancient Indian historians like Romila Thapar, Asoka was not a handsome lad. He was cruel looking with being a cripple in one leg. It was also part of a reason why Asoka was treated so poorly in his childhood and Bindusara (his father) chose to neglect him, which is ironical because Bindusara (translated to the "spotted one") himself had a skin disorder as per edicts which was considered to be hereditary.

In short the movie was grossly historically inaccurate.
