Before this show goes more down drains wanted to thank the character that made me watch this show. Indeed i like his character so much it made me watch older episodes since sep (and i rarely watch TV ITV especially. The last show i watched was in 2013-14 after 8 years gap anupama and only after anuj kapadia came in dec. It was by chance i glanced a scene of him getting humiliated by Baa but acting so cool so classy when anyone else would be hopping mad.
You will not find men like anuj kapadia in 20th or 21st century for sure
Yes but whenever we heard of romeo Juliet or salim anarkali or laila majnu in folklores we always wondered can any human love someone so much
Romeo loved his rival city chiefs daughter like crazy risking meeting her at cost of his life. Nowadays a girls salary and her fathers property matters more to decide whether to marry her or someone else(same for boys too). What did a young son of Lord Montague find in the rival gang Juliet that he risked his life to love her marry her knowing it can be death knell?
Salim anarkali the love story a young crown prince destined to be emperor from birth finds inspiration to love a courtesan and treat her like a normal lover or even human being when full mughal court must be seeing her like a object and not worthy of being a lover or wife of any man of lowest starta forget a crown prince. What did a young prince find in that badnaam courtesan when every man looked at her as an object of lust and an object to be used and thrown at will that he revolted at cost of the throne?
And majnu love was so great he never gave up on laila despite society throwing stones at him or she being married off.
Till anuj kapadia came on ITV we could only imagine what those immortal love stories must have been like. Anuj kapadia is romeo salim and majnu all rolled into one. He was ready to give up kapadia empire for anupama like salim was ready to give up throne to marry anarkali. Anuj kapadia risked his life for anupama when someone tried to steal her like romeo did for juliet.
Anuj kapadia love is stuff of legends. Yes he tried dating had other lovers may be in USA. Even Salim married many wives and had kids from them but he never risked his throne or fought with Akbar to marry them.
We understand that being eldest of family and having responsibility of life ometimes you cannot act like romeo kill yourself for love. Salim had empire to handle and his entire family to take care off(aged parents and siblings later wives and kids and his brothers kids) and anuj kapadia had a kid sister and GK to take care off and of course kapadia and sons to handle. So they cannot become romeo and kill themselves for lover or go mad and roam world like vagabonds like majnu did.
That is beauty of anuj kapadia love. He did his duty as son and brother to his family but also never let go off the love he had for anupama in his heart. They say if a person dies for his love and lover thats greatest love. I beg to differ greatest love is like anuj kapdia how you live for family and responsibility after heart break all life for others. Thats true love rather than kill yourself if your lover marries another man. Or if your lover is killed by your family and snatched from you(aka salim)
The love of anuj kapadia is so refreshing message to all youngsters nowadays who go around killing themselves if mom does not allow to watch TV too much or dad does not get them smart phone. He did his duty towards his family his fathers business towards his sister and GK although he was heart broken. He could have just killed himself for losing lover. That it would be called a great love story too.
But he lived for others for his parents happiness for his kid sisters happiness to make a better future fo rher. To take care of his bacchii mukku and his kaka GK and take care of his fathers empire Kapadia and sons. By that act alone he set example for world what is true love not to give up your life or lose yourself like a vagabond but fight that loss of love and live for others live for parents and siblings who depend on you. Can there be a greater love than this?
That is why i found anuj kapadia a refreshing lover. Tough to find ones who lost love and than still survive for family and those dependent on them. In history real history very few people have such love a Salim or shah jahan or may be a napoleon in last few centuries would have done that continued duty of family and empire after lovers death. In 21st century ITV its anuj kapadia whose done it. Sadly in real history we will not find any anuj kapadia or salim or napolean etc anymore. But hope few get inspired by anuj kapadias love and life.
That is why when they are spoiling anuj kapadias character by showing him dumb and illogical it disappoints viewers because hes an inspiration.
Compare his true unfiltered love for anupama without any shart to anupamas selfish love that wants him to accept toxic shahs as his familty bend to their wishes and take humiliation if he loves her wants to marry her. Than you realize difference of a anuj love and anupama love thats only comes with pre conditions and not complete.

Now we can understand to some extent the kind of love romeo felt for juliet or salim had for anarkali or majnu for laila
But like salim or a napolean etc wish anuj kapadia did not lose practical side of himself and not bend to all anupama wishes and allow himself and GK to be humiliated by shahs again and again.
Yes you love your lover but that does not mean you stop doing right and bend to all unreasonable demands of lover or her family etc or let them disrespect or take advantage of you and your family members thats not true love anuj kapadia
