I liked what was presented over the weekend. Other than the HR-Arunita-PD TRP carrots, it was more or less professionally handled.
The big point is that some of the talent is really new and fresh, and their singing held my attention. Even most repeat offenders have contested only low-profile shows before.
Alka and Javed Ali are good and respectable judges. HR takes greater interest in this show and is a livewire. He does go over the top, but it is still not cringeworthy.
I like the Captains. They are energetic but keep their dignity. They add a lot to the proceedings already.

So it sounds good overall!

I have come to the conclusion Himesh is very expressive as a person and very passionate about music, hence he seems to go OTT, without actually going OTT.

And we shouldn't forget, he's the only judge giving all them singers a chance to sing for his label. No wonder he's so invested in new talent.

Otherwise even the likes of PD and Arunita would've disappeared into oblivion. See the number of songs all Idol 12 contestants and alums have sung recently for HRM!

How's Salman doing as a Captain? A part of me wishes to see someone else from 10/11...like no shade to Salman, he is a great singer and I really enjoy his songs, but everyone should get a fair chance, shouldn't they.

My feeling is that the Captains, by and large, were chosen based on their SM footprint and popularity.
The Top 4 recent idols on IG following are PD/Aru/Salman and Danish. Sayli is a little behind Ankush.

This year the Captains are getting more footage/prominence than before. That may also be a TRP strategy.

I too wanted Ankush or Rohit Raut in place of Danish & Sayli.

One person we are all forgetting is the new Bharat ki Beti, Vishwaja. We can't rule out her being one of the finalists purely on her "bharat ki beti" status.

that kashmiri girl dont have that good voice bt then she is a kid. I dont think they should select her ahead, someone else more deserving.

whoever is the kid who sang- ab to hai tumse har khushi apni, please select him. atlst contestants trying different song as alka pointed out. Listening to that song was like seeing a long lost friend. I love that song❤️
