The sound of the waves crashing the shore was music to her ears. It had been only an hour since she had come to this room and she already missed him. Too bad he had to rush to the meeting as soon as they had landed here in Goa, she thought. Oh well, he had promised to finish work quickly and take her out for sightseeing. Taking in a deep breath she sighed softly thinking she would take a shower and wait for him. She walked to the bed and opened their duffel bag and took out the soft sea blue linen saree she had so carefully packed. Her cheeks turned a deep shade of red as she imagined herself in it and him undoing it and her.
"Anu... control..."
Hitting her head lightly she quickly rummaged her bag for the towel. She distinctly remembered taking the towel out from the cupboard and placing it on the bed. She realized with sinking heart that she had left it there just as she had done the first time Mr. Shah took her to her mother's place.
"Sorry sorry sorry... I forgot the towel."
"What?"
"I will get one. Let me ask Maa or Bhavesh."
"Do you think I would use someone else's towel? Where was your mind? You packed everything for you but didn't think about my necessities. How selfish can you be? We are going back now. I can't embarrass myself by borrowing things from someone."
"But we just came... they would feel bad..."
"You should have thought that before you forgot the towel. I don't care what others think. It's beneath my dignity to get things from others."
And that was it. He had never taken her back there again. Whenever she had dared to ask him, he would shut her up mentioning her forgetfulness.
Her mind conjured up nightmares of her begging and pleading in the past. She didn't know how long she stood there her mind contemplating on what she should say to Anuj when a click at the door made her look up. He was back.
"Finally the meeting is over.... I am yours for the day.... uh... what's wrong?"
"The... the towel... I forgot to pack the towel... sorry sorry... I..."
He quickly marched to her side and gathered her up in his arms.
"What are you?"
"You didn't bring the towel na? So I thought of using YOU as my towel..."
"Huh?"
He leaned forward and pecked her lips.
"My darling wife, you worry too much... we can always borrow a towel from the hotel. If they don't have, we can buy one too. Now... I really want to clean up before sightseeing today. I would dearly appreciate your help my Lady."
She snuggled closer to him to hide her blush as he carried her inside the bathroom and shut the door.
