I feel so agitated by ITV'S constant attempt to not give the FL the margin of being a human. Even they can feel angry, insecure, selfish and hurt. This is my take, and I know ITV will never show something like this. It is my first time ever writing an OS, so galti hon toh maaf kardena. Everything was a blurr once MA came back to his senses. He hardly remembered the scene that he created in his intoxicated state. He was confused and was feeling sober, but he didn't have the time to reflect. Deep quickly got him changed into formals, and everyone was trying to give him a pep talk before his meeting. MH took an excuse from the chaos surrounding her, because she was feeling extremely overwhelmed even after changing out of her Manushi get-up. She decided to seat in the garden for a while, and ponder what her life had turned into in the past few days.
'Overwhelmed' would be right word for what she was feeling right now. She was feeling hurt, insecure, angry and slightly jealous too.
Hurt-because it was her own mother who had put her in this mess. Any dream of ever settling down was crushed the day her father died. She didn't want to get married, let alone to the person who was ditched by her own sister. Why did she have to makeup for everything her sister did?
Insecure- Because she had finally realized that she will never be good enough for MA. The aspirations MA had for his future wife was something she will never be able to meet. She knows this relationship will fall apart in the future, and this will disappoint her mom, and give Dadi another reason to demean her.
Angry- because everyone always keeps on forgetting that even she is suffering silently in this forced marriage. It wasn't her lifetime fantasy to get married to her sister's ex-fiance. Still, she gave this family her heart and soul, she tried to assimilate, she tried everything, but she was never accepted, and she will never be. Why do they keep blaming her for his every pain? Isn't she also a victim in this scenario?
Jealous- Because of the love and support MA got from his family. At his slightest inconvenience, the entire family comes to his aid. No she wasn't in need of love. She knew her mother, Ram Lakhan, her friends, her neighbors loved her a lot, but she lost her sole support system with her father on that fateful day. Deep down, she knows that if she is in any problem or any mess, no one will come to save her. It is not like she cannot fight her wars alone, but it is consoling to have someone say 'I will always be there for you.'
Tears streamed down her eyes as memories of her father flashed infront of her eyes. She took out her phone, and kept scrolling the gallery to see his pictures. That's when a notification caught her eye. It was a message from her bff, Priyank.
TEXTS:
P:Yeh Kya sun raha hoon mein? Tune Shaadi kar li!!! Woh bhi uss psycho aurat ki ex-fiance se???
Tu mental piece hain kya? 😡
P: You are not a freaking replacement for God's Sake! Zaroor us larki ney hi kuch Kiya Hoga. Dil namki cheez toh usme hain hi nahi, bas roop hain ziske jhase mein log ajatay hain. Par tujhe kisne kaha tha tyaag ki Devi banne k liya?
P:Yaar Shaadi karli bataya bhi nahi 😭. Main Pune Kya gaya, mujhe apne life se bahar kar liya. Ram ne bataya mujhe. Warna toh mujhe pata bhi nahi chalta
P: Sun mein next week araha hoon. If you are not happy with this arrangement then we will do something and get you out of this mess. Tujhe toh khudki parwa nahi but I'm not gonna let anyone treat my Jaan like trash.
MH laughs at Priyank's tactics. But she knows she cannot trust this short-tempered bff of hers, so before he creates a fiasco over spoilt milk, she has to stop him.

MH-Isliya main a tanne kuch bataya na. Manne patha tha ki tu asahi react karega. Phirbhi bhul ho gayi maray se maaf kar de. Aur sun ana k baat khabardaar koi tamasha Kiya toh!. Marah College mein akay Saab se pehle maray se milna. We have a lot to catch up ❤️
MH smiled at her text. Priyank Purohit. Her overprotective bff and partner-in-crime. While, now she simply considers him a very close friend of her, but feelings from her side wasn't always of friendship.
Flashback:
A 17 year old Meet is standing in the local park, where she decided to meet Priyank. She checked the mirror on her bicycle for the upteenth time to fix her pink and black checkered shirt and jeans. Today, even her father was surprised to see her wear her favourite shirt before going to play cricket. She smelled the sunflower and smiled at it . She turned around to face her minions and after getting thumbs up from them, she did the rehearsal 29th time in the same hour.
MH-Dekh jis Tara tu manna janta hain ustara koi bhi na janta. Cricket mein bhi humari jodi Dhoni-Virat k Jodi se Kam na hain. Main bas yeh kehna chahti Hoon ki kyun na hum iss dosti ko rishte daari mein badal dein? (starts stammering)
Ram-Ustad aga bhi toh bolo.
MH-Priyank agaya. Chup ja jake. Aur sun ek awaaz bhi maat karna.
Lakhan-Hum toh chup jayanga sarkar par aap sure ho apko propose sunflower se karna hain? Rose se nahi?
MH-O bandar. Tuh usey marah se better janta hain? Usey rose 'overrated' lagta hain. Sunflower uska favorite hain eb jaaa....chup ja warna wo dekh legal phir bhari embarrassment ho jayagi.
Ram and Lakhan hide behind a tree as Priyank approaches Meet. Meet hides the flower behind her back. Priyank looks more excited than ever. He came and quickly took Meet in a bone crushing hug.
MH-Areh ka hua? Pagal ho gaya hain k?
P-Ha pagal ho gaya Hoon kyun ki aaj mein a soch liya ki main tujhe apni dil ki baat bataunga
Meet's heart starts racing. A crimson red colour creeps onto her cheeks, as she looks down.
Priyank pulls out a blue jewellery box from his pocket.
P-Jaan yeh jaisa laga?
It was a beautiful pendent with M and P initials carved on a pink heart.
MH- Waah! Paar yeh toh bohot expensive lag raha hain.
P-Haan. Paar yeh soch na humari dosti jaldi hi rishte daari mein badal ney wali hain so efforts toh dhalna hi tha
A huge smile appears on Meet's face. So, she wasn't wrong after all. Feelings are mutual. He loves her, she thought.
P-Toh Kya kehti ho saali sahaba? Joota churai mein kitne paisa logi?
The smile she had on her face was immediately whipped off. She stared back at Priyank, who was busy laughing at his poor sense of humor, with despair and bafflement.
MH-Tu Manno di ko chahta hain?
P-Kon nahi chahta hain? You know what Meet mujha lagta tha main Manushi ke layak hi nahi Hoon. Paar pichle kuch mahino se woh har roz baat karti hain mujhse. Mujhse homework ki liya help bhi leti hain. Hum exams mein bhi saat bet tey hain (smart ppl can understand Manno ney isko bhi use Kiya. So, here Manno and P are classmates. P is senior to MH, but are friends because a.they are neighbors b.they always played cricket together )
While Priyank kept on rambling about his feelings for Manushi, Meet's heart broke a little bit more with each sentence. She crushed the flower that she was holding with one hand, and was hiding behind her back. She knows Manushi most probably didn't like Priyank, but that didn't bother her. What pained her was Priyank never liked her, infact he almost forgot that she was a girl too. He perhaps never even considered the fact that him constantly addressing her as 'Jaan' and then the next moment bro-zoning might confuse her as well. It was getting hard for her to hold back to her feelings now.
MH-Bas bas samaj gayi main. Ja kar propose karna hain toh kar, aur sun Didi ko na white lillies Pasand hain. Woh le Jana.
P-Ok done. See ya Jaan.
MH-Bye
As soon as Priyank left, disheartened Ram and Lakhan approached MH.
MH-Tumlog ghar jau. Manna koi baat na karni
Saying that, she rode back on her bicycle and left.
On her way back home, she could sense the hurt enveloping her heart, but with that hurt came a nagging feeling-insecurity. She knew she was not only different from her Didi, but almost from every other girl in her alley. While girls of her age were toying around makeup kits, she was busy navigating through the manual of a mixer attempting to fix it. While most girls were mastering there skills in cooking, knitting and dancing, she was getting her knees scrapped on a cricket ground. For her innocent mind, neither of the both lifestyles is wrong, but her Dadi constantly kept telling her that she should mend her ways or she will forever be alone. Was Dadi right? She wasn't the one to gush over romantic fairytales and happy ending, but she never desired to be alone. Should she try to be more like the 'other girls' of her age ?Even she wished to share a relationship like the one her mother and father shares with someone one-day. She really thought Priyank was that special someone, but...........
At night that day, MH was sitting with her father on the terrace, fixing the watch that her father broke while chasing some goon. When, Meet saw her father was in a delightful and calm mood, she decided to slip in her wishlist into her father's mind.
M-Papa main Kya Keh rahi thi. Iss Saal ap manne na kuch Make up item aur face wash gift karna diwali mein.
Ashokh Hooda was astonished by his daughter's words. He turned around to face her.
AH-Beta ap toh makeup nahi karti.
MH-Ha par soch rahi hoon try karu. After all, isme burai kya hain. Didi manne uska saman toh use na karne degi. Aur pappa is saal mein bhi Didi ke saath Diwali mein saare silwaungi aur...
Meet noticed her father's intense stare at her
MH-Maina kuch galat keh diya kya papa?
AH-Ap insecure feel karahi hain apni behen se?
Meet felt embarrassed and irritated at the same time.
MH-Isme insecure hone ki kya baat hain saab larkiya karte hain yeh saab toh main a soch...
AH-Priyank wali baat pata hain mujhe. Ram Lakhan ney bataya.
Irritation was replaced by more embarrassment now. Even though Meet shared an extremely intimate bond with her father, getting rejected by her only crush wasn't a story a girl would like to discuss with her father.
AH-Beta ek baar kahu? Ap ko Jo chahiya main dunga. Par kya yeh sab sachme apko chahiya? Beta change ho na galat nahi hain par kisi aur k liya khud ko change karna zaroor galat hain. Manno ki kuch khasiyat hain joh usse Manno banati hain par Apke usul aur apki khasiyat apko Meet banati hain. Beta jab bhi khuch kharap ho jaya ghar mein kya hum Manno ko yaad karte hain? Nahi na, hum apko awaaz deta hain. Jab koi zimmedari wala kaam ho toh bhi main sab se pehle apni Meet beta ko yaad karta hoon. Beta aap khaas ho. Aur agar apko koi us nazar se nahi dekhta hain toh isme apki galti nahi hain. Priyank ko shayad apne soulmate k liya kuch alag expectations hain. He loves you as a friend. Is ka Matlab yeh nahi hain ki aapme kaami hain. Aur dekhna beta ekdin apko koi pasand karega apki inhi saab khasiyat aur usul k wajah se.
Meet Hooda was speechless. Tears silently rolled down her eyes as she hugged her father. It always perplexed her that how her father could read her mind and tell her the exact words that she needed to hear.Her father taught her to never be embarrassed of her ownself.
Flashback ends
MH looks at the sky.
Aaj papa nahi hain phir bhi hain. Mera aas paas itne logo ke hone ke baat bhi sirf unhi ki baatein aaj bhi Mera kaam ati hain.
So, after a few moments of reflection, Meet Hooda took a few resolutions.
Taking away someone's right to know the truth isn't MH's usul. So, tomorrow she will tell Dodhuram everything even if she has to break her mother's promise. As planned, she will definitely try to give this relationship her best, but she will never change herself in the process. She cannot be Manno di and dodhuram has to get that fact in his head. He cannot imagine her as Manno di again. If things still don't work out between them, she will leave this house with her head held high. Dodhuram's expectations from his life partner cannot be met by her, and she will not change herself to fit into his 'trophy wife's image of a life partner. Because she has promised the person living above the stars that she will never change herself for anyone.
She laid back on the green grass and stared at the starry sky; however, what caught her eyes were the fireflies buzzing around at a distance. Manno di, Chavi and all the beautiful girls that she knows are like the stars in the sky. They are so beautiful that they can be witnessed from a distance of light years. However, she is just like those fireflies. Even she shines in the night sky, but very few are lucky enough to notice her brightness. Feeling content with her philosophy, she closed her eyes and started reminiscing the best memories of her life, which were with her father.

So, guys this was first attempt at writing an OS. Mistakes nazar andas karlena as rough draft deh rahi hoon. Ik I completely butchered Meet's accent but Hindi isn't my first language,so it was really tough to write her part. And do you want a part 2 with MA's pov after drunk track? I can't promise but I will try to write one if you guys want. And kya kehta ho jealousy track ke liya PrEet(Priyank+Meet) ko leka kuch likhu? 😆
