You are right about it being a personal choice. I heard the song, didn't mind it but felt there must be something more in the lyrics for them to play this over Jaaniya or the new bgm so I went and looked at the lyrics and it made sense. It grew on me the more I listened to it and now I am not too far from liking it.

My personal low as far as the songs they have chosen on Arylie are that Ranjha song and the Tere Naam song, especially that Ranjha one. No, nope, never. Don't care about the lyrics or the sentiments behind it I just did not like the song, but I bet there are millions who do and good for them.

I have even read people requesting Laal Ishq on them and I can't stand that one either. So yeah, it's all personal choice. Not everybody is gonna like the songs they select for every scene so maybe they were catering for that section of the audience who might like it like me. I'm sure when they played Ranjha they had a section of the audience to whom they were catering to too.

I just volume downed the song in that scene, and played Dil Janiyaa on my phone, and enjoyed the scene🤣. Obviously, Atif Khan did not choose it, because he chooses better ones🤣.
