U.S. Healthcare doesn't leave people to die. Low income people get Medicaid, free dialysis, cancer and HIV treatments, so on and so forth.

Also, you might be willing to pay into a taxpayer funded healthcare system, but clearly, most voters are not.

And where do you draw the line? Mental health not as important as heart surgery? Some would argue it may well be. The definition of essential will vary from person to person. Most good healthcare systems will provide all of the above for “free”.

That’s fine with me. I’m not the one that has to live with the consequences of it. So enjoy your cheap gas and expensive healthcare system if you don’t have insurance.👍🏼

Medicine has definitions of what is life threatening and what causes morbidity. That is how we draw the line.

It does not go by whether something is essential in the minds of someone. These limits/lines are drawn because resources are limited.

And yeah, citizens are entitled to vote in the policy they want. American voters do not appear to want Denmark. For all the Twitter griping, hardly any of them try to move. OTOH, a survey says two-thirds of the world would move to America with its cheap gas and expensive Healthcare. So what does that say about what the recipients of said cheap Healthcare think?

Easy to mock the preference for freedom rather than cradle-to-grave nannyism, but I might also remind you there is more innovation happening in certain zip codes in the U.S. than in entire Europe. It's because of said freedoms. 😊 And the world benefits.

So why not be happy with what you have instead of mocking citizens of some other nation for their preferences? It takes all kinds. World wouldn't have defeated Hitler without American cowboy attitude. World needs Japanese discipline as well. We don't all need to be socialists. If that's what floats your boat, you vote it in and let Americans be.

I hope your anecdote about your friend’s mom is not a defense of the American health care system.

If you don’t have insurance here or bad insurance then you better pray for good health like your life depends on it, because it does. Some people here ration their insulin or BP medication because they can’t afford their copay or don’t have insurance at all and have to chose between insulin or rent, and yes people do die because of this. Some people avoid cardiologists or other specialists because they cannot afford their copay or their deductibles are too high and yes people do die due to lack of preventative care. The ones that don’t die reach a point of life threatening situation and have to be rushed to an emergency room. Assuming they make it through that life threatening situation and don’t die in the emergency room, they then get their medical bills. Separate bills from the ER, the Hospital, the different doctors that come and see them, the ambulance ride, and then they go into massive debt.

I legit never thought I’d see people jump to the defense of the American healthcare system so this is truly fascinating to me.😆but I guess it reminds me of this anecdote from work..

We had a lady who’d come around the office from the canteen everyday with a trolley of sandwiches, biscuits, chocolates etc. They were mediocre at best and maybe 5% of people actually bought stuff from this lady. But when we had a savings exercise and management decided to cut this service, all of a sudden there was a huge uproar. Mostly from people who hadn’t bought anything from the trolley in years. Kinda like ‘Muricans screaming “don’t fix what’s not broken”, without realising just how broken the system is.

Why is substance abuse treatment mandated?

Why should I or anybody else pay for somebody else' drug addiction?

Somehow all those countries with free public healthcare systems manage to juggle these limited resources just fine.

Of course. Americans are free to vote for whoever they want. Voted with all their heart for a truly American leader like Trump. God bless America.🇺🇸

Love how delusional America is that they think 2/3 of the world want to move there.😆according to a very reliable, accurate survey of course.😆

Anyway Demi Moore is the first celebrity to pose nude while pregnant...

She started a trend...

She was featured in the cover of Vanity Fair while seven months pregnant in 1991... It's one of the groundbreaking mag covers...

Don't know who will be the first Indian celebrity to do it

I think Pooja Bhatf was the first to pose nude, not pregnant though

I don’t think it’s that black and white I’m afraid. Growing up, I definitely had this same mentality but you realise for some people, it’s a coping mechanism to deal with some deep shit that life has thrown their way. Of course, some people are just shitty and have no excuse. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think you realize how all these countries manage to include everything in the health coverage.

1. They price cap. Businesses allow price-capping in Europe because they make up losses in countries like the U.S. That is, the Americans you mock are subsidizing your medicines.

FYI. Trump was trying to price cap, too, at a certain percentage of countries in Europe, IIRC. The pharmaceuticals just about had a stroke. Because they would've either had to raise prices in Europe or stop selling there.

2. American military has legal obligations to support most of Europe. Which means we spend money on your defense, freeing up cash for you to spend elsewhere.

Germans were using broomsticks instead of rifles in their military parades. Broomsticks! If Putin goes any farther, what do you wanna bet Europe will be making emergency calls to DC? Or do you think you can beat Putin with broomsticks and your superior healthcare?

3. Innovation comes at a price. It happens in Europe only at a fraction of the U.S., but the U.S. still allows it go outside the country because of said freedoms.

Also, the lines outside the U.S. consulates in many countries suggest the survey was accurate. 😊

Hard to believe, ain't it? Who'd have thought some people would prefer freedom to decide their own fate than be treated like an infant by the state?

I am the opposite, growing up I used to think it was fair and now I think it's unfair, very unfair...

Maybe I am becoming mean and heartless as I get older

Oh man, no offence but this entire defense is lol-worthy. We really talking about broomsticks here, what even?😆The American military never does anything out of the goodness of its heart, history has shown that hasn’t it? Wherever they go, they go because it would benefit them/NATO, please don’t be fooled to think they’re doing it for the greater good.

Congrats on your innovation, my guess is the average citizen in Europe would rather have free healthcare at any given point than innovation. No point having a driverless Tesla if you’re too sick to drive it, eh?😛

P.S. ah, yes the lines are solid proof about the results of this survey.
