But there is context, right - it's a pregnancy announcement. People do all sorts of pregnancy announcements from nude and barely clothed to not even featuring themselves but having chalkboard announcements or ultrasound photos.

I, personally, don't find pregnancy announcements erotic or titillating. Even if the woman is fully nude, my mind thinks that this isn't to arouse me, but it's a woman owning and celebrating her body that is going to be creating and sustaining a future person.

But that's just me. Can someone get titillated by images like this? Of course. Are they wrong to get aroused? No. It's a natural response. Even I can falter despite awareness that it's not for me. We all get aroused at times without intending it. People can get aroused by the most ridiculous things like a tree or a rock because of their shape and structure. Some people have a pregnancy fetish and can be aroused by even a fully clothed woman cradling a pregnant belly.
So, I don't think it is reasonable to police and control how other people own or express their bodies. I don't think it is fair to blame people either. As grown-ups, we must realize that some things are meant to be sexual and some are not - understand the time and place and try our best to be mature about it.

Well, nobody said that others who go nude for pregnancy announcements are not seeking attention.

If people find something weird or inappropriate, then they will question it. It's nothing to do with being 'grown-up'.

I’m quite happy to have most of my taxes go towards funding “free” healthcare for all. You see, if I’m fortunate enough to go through life without having a knee surgery, but someone else is not, i’m quite content knowing my taxes have helped fund their operation and saved their life regardless of the fact that I probably pay more in taxes than them.

I’m fortunate enough to have private medical insurance cover (I’m not American so this isn’t the “norm”), but just as fortunate that even if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be left to die.

In America no one is left to die, because to get the optimal medical attention is every single person’s- regardless of their visa status, fundamental right!

My friend’s mom who was on a visitor visa here, had to be rushed to go through emergency bypass surgery- they did it without any questions asked. The charities chipped in and took care of the hospital bill!

Never heard of anyone being left to die in America because they didn’t have money.

Man the fact that ya’ll need charities to chip in to avoid crippling debt if you don’t have medical insurance cover says it all really. Truly blessed!

You mean elsewhere in the world the casual visitors get something like bypass surgery done without any questions asked? What’s wrong with Charity? You were just now saying you love that your money was going into someone else’s medical care, isn’t that a form of charity as well? Someone has to pay the doctors, unless you think everything happens with a magic wand in the vacuum!

Charity is giving to others of one's own free will, taxing is forcing to give your hard earned money to others

If someone wants to pay more taxes, they're free to do it though...

Is their any laws stopping them?

😆I have nothing against charity, my friend. What I’m against is having to rely on charity for life saving treatment or be left with crippling debt. Because what happens if that charity goes bankrupt? What happens in a pandemic when donations drop to an all time low? What happens when people are so hit by the cost of living crisis that they can’t afford to give as generously anymore. Honestly think it’s just a huge cultural difference. Doctors in America earn very very well, nurses are paid surprisingly well, that’s not the case when the government (i.e. the taxpayer) fund your salaries.

I personally don’t like Sonam and she has a history of being hypocritical and attention seeking so she may be keen to create a stir. More generally speaking what bothers me is people being quick to judge and bully women’s styling and dressing choice (which never happen when a male superstar poses shirtless exposing their torso). It should be ok for Women (in the right platforms) to be sexy and body confident without being s*** shamed. But you’re right, people are also allowed to criticise.

QUOTE=Mahisa_22]

But she's doing deliberately titillating photoshoots which have nothing to do with pregnancy or motherhood. That's what people are questioning. Of course, it's her choice. But people also have the choice to criticize as long as it's not below-the-belt insults.

Leaving someone to die is diff from a breastfeeding class, which is my whole point.

U.S. Healthcare doesn't leave people to die. Low income people get Medicaid, free dialysis, cancer and HIV treatments, so on and so forth.

Also, you might be willing to pay into a taxpayer funded healthcare system, but clearly, most voters are not.

I hope your anecdote about your friend’s mom is not a defense of the American health care system.

If you don’t have insurance here or bad insurance then you better pray for good health like your life depends on it, because it does. Some people here ration their insulin or BP medication because they can’t afford their copay or don’t have insurance at all and have to chose between insulin or rent, and yes people do die because of this. Some people avoid cardiologists or other specialists because they cannot afford their copay or their deductibles are too high and yes people do die due to lack of preventative care. The ones that don’t die reach a point of life threatening situation and have to be rushed to an emergency room. Assuming they make it through that life threatening situation and don’t die in the emergency room, they then get their medical bills. Separate bills from the ER, the Hospital, the different doctors that come and see them, the ambulance ride, and then they go into massive debt.
