Also, I never connected to Midnight Mass, mostly because the biblically misquotes got to me and I know that there are people who twists the Bible according to what they want and this was more philosophical to me and I never liked the vampire genre.

Second, Elanor both in the book and the series is alone, Nellie's life is nothing but tragic

Lastly, I think the red room's door is slightly ajar (at the end scene) with some hints towards another season and maybe that is why Mike chose this end.

Not sure what you watched but there is definitely a movie called Butterflies are Free (made sometime in the 1960s or 1970s). However, now that my brain is unfortunately awake, the movie I was thinking of is a different one with the same actor and a different blonde actressšŸ˜†. It's called "40 Carats" (made in 1973).

I just looked up the trailer on Youtube. The plot is cliche but it had some funny moments and the theme is a male/female May December romance. Check this one out (it has some scantily clad moments so I don't want to include the link here - who knows if the mods are already eyeing us🤣). The guy really doesn't look a bit like Kartik? (I know I'm risking tamatar/chappal from you if he doesn't)

Yeah Michael Douglas does look a bit like Daniel Radcliffe there, now that you mention it. He looks good in a beard. In fact, I think most men look better with facial hair...

I've just never found it streaming anywhere. I think I originally saw it on the Turner Movie Classics channel. If you do find it, let me know.

Gurl, wow!! Have you ever thought of becoming a movie critic or going into media studies? That was some top-notch analysis right there.

Bly Manor is a very romanticized adaptation of The Turn of the Screw which I found to be a much more subtle horror novel than THOHH. There are some great moments even in this adaptation now that I think about it, but the Quint/Jessie romance is not such an overt element in the book anyway. I like Oliver Cohen-Smith though - he's got those aquiline British good looks🤣

It never occurred to me till you mentioned it but I can totally see how Midnight Mass could be very disturbing or downright offensive to Christians...šŸ˜’

Not offensive, for sure, my brother loved it, but disturbing, in a way for me atleast. But I did love a lot about Midnight Mass, especially how Riley, the guy who was condemned to be a bad guy was actually the purest soul and how the ending was nerve-wracking where everyone accepts they did wrong and awaits the light of the Lord to wash them.

The muslim touch was magical, where the boy prays with his father, the father dies first and then the son, and of course, the torture of the woman who did not want to die and kept burying in the sand to hide herself.

The ending was good, ngl, but I could not connect to this one.

NO THAT IS CALLED BEING OBSESSED AND HYPER FIXATION lmao

I hate it because I get too attached and to overwhelmed by it but love it too, because things like these keep my loneliness away

it's one thing to be obsessed and hyperfixated on something *cough*jijajilovers*cough* and quite another to lay out the depths of that fascination in such an articulate way. I'm super impressed. Watch Bly Manor and if you like it, let's talk about that one.

Dude, no feeling lonely while the chat club bunch is around, ok? Hum sab toh hai yahan - vella bunch that most of us are🤣 Aa jao baat karne jab mann kare. šŸ¤—

I am at the second last episode of Bly Manor re-run and all up for discussions. This horror is too subtle and creepy and more likely to send shiver down your spine than give you goosebumps
