Don’t be shocked, many are planted to spread misinformation and false narratives. You’d be surprised how far this goes. As for NRI radio jockeys, they just read and deliver the news. Most of the news is delivered to them by PR heavy Indian sources with the intended storyline. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. Thank god I have a dishwasher.

Man it’s so hard to actually read a genuine review in the review thread. Much needed collation on the front page but man, that’s just effort, cba to go through all the lame fan wars.

Anyway, for starters yep probably Aloo’s best performance till date. She killed it, my only gripe is just how incredibly hard it is to imagine a real life Gangubai with a baby face. I do genuinely think someone like Kangana would’ve been perfect. (Or even Kareena!) Also, have to say - given two of SLBs films now have a garba song, DP was wayyyyyyyyy better in Nagada.

Also, all those questioning Ajay Devgan, his lengthy cameo and what fee he got paid have surely by now eaten humble pie. Shantanu was cute. I so wanted to see more of Raziabai. He was so good in what he got, just that we were left wanting more tbh - not his fault, just the script.

SLB making a movie without the big palaces and grandeur and still making a movie that looks amazing on the big screen is a huge talent in itself. I genuinely don’t think anyone makes movies like him in Bollywood when it comes to visuals. Songs could have been better but appreciate it isn’t really that kinda film.

While I actually think the movie was a good one, i’ve got to agree about PR and journos. My journo friend is always at Bollywood movie premieres and in the entire time that i’ve known him (10+ years) he’s maybe posted a bad review once. I assume it’s just him not wanting to burn bridges as they’d probably refuse interviews with him if he did post his honest thoughts.

She will look ridiculous as the 15 year old Ganga. The movie chronicles Ganga’s life from when she was 15 years to 27 years old - perfect fit for Alia. Her baby face was what has got her this role. The ultra perfectionist that he was, you think SLB would cast someone that he didn’t deem fit for his titular character?

I don’t personally know too many 27 year olds with baby faces, maybe you do? I wouldn’t have minded a younger actress playing the 15 yr old parts. Performance wise, there’s absolutely no denying she did a great job. Just not what I imagine the real life Gangubai to look like. And maybe that’s my Bollywood bias of what a typical maalkin looks like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, we both know of one face at least - of Alia’s,no? I just took it as the character since I don’t know the real Gangubai anyway. May be real Gangu also had a baby face? We don’t know much about the real person except for that one chapter from the book on which this film was based.

Kangu, vidya, Kareena, DEEPIKA, priyanka , Tabu, too old to play 16 yr old And alias 1 min dholida dance in single take is miles ahead any of deepikas dance till now .

Deal with it pls

Saw it yday!! Movie was good and all the actors especially alia rocked itt!!! Felt like only she could do justice to this role. Good one .

In terms of SLB song and dance no one can outdo Devdas. No one can outdo Madhuri/Ash. No one. Deal with it.
