Hi everyone!! I just want to take a minute to rant about something tiny, I started watching balh 2 fairly recently just for timepass to cope after krpkab ended, and now I'd say I'm relatively invested, but my god I can't put into words how much I hate Meera maa 🤦🏻‍♀️

Why is she the epitome of all things good in the world in the most annoying way possible? Especially tonight's episode where she's like "don't talk to Ram like this, why do you want to drag your own marriage through the mud" after the way Ram spoke to and about Priya's brother. Does Priya not have every right to be mad at him? What kind of stupid advice does Meera maa give all the time? As a feminist, as a woman, I can't stand her!

Also just to add to this, why is Priya's family so obsessed with Ram? He's a nice guy, sure, but Meera maa fully worships him. Even Sara constantly looks like she's about to cry of pride at just being related to him.

I totally agree... I wanted Meera Ma to be angry or maybe show some kind of disappointment when Ram called her Aunty. Priya was right, Ram doesn't trust her enough, and the whole fam is just Ram Ram all the time, it's weird and maybe it's because Ram is first nice guy that any of Soods have met. I don't want Priya to go goody goody with Ram.

Oh god almost 95% of the fandom can't stand Meera Ma 😆 She is exactly what you said- All things good but in the most annoying way possible.. And also she is the definition of toxic positive. What a doormat she is .

And yeah it's really a bit annoying to see Priya's fam be all starry-eyed around Ram.. this really looks a bit shallow as it seems like they are just happy that Pri got married to such a rich man who also happens to be a good person.. so it's like she won the lottery and Sood family can't stop gushing about that..and are hence desperate to always please Ram even if it means Priya getting hurt in the process..

I have a different take on this. It's an arranged marriage and Ram has been very kind and adjusting. He agreed to all terms and conditions that Priya's family put forward. Just because Akki & Shivi is going through a rough patch, Priya and Ram should not be affected by it. Also, Meera Maa is unaware of the fact that Ram is doing the same thing that Akki has been doing ie not revealing about Vedika to Priya. Knowing Priya, she thinks that Priya will just walk out of the marriage

Haha !! Feel so happy to read this 😂

I literally screamed and ran away from my TV screen the moment Meera opened her mouth and said - "Tu Ram se kuch bhi sawal nahi karegi "🤣

I ran to IF ranted for my peace and came back only when my family assured me that this character is out of sight 😂

This is not the way you deal with your child who already has so many prejudices against men..

The right thing would have been to point out Ram's mistakes as well and then try to explain Priya where he might be coming from and request her to to not be rude with him as he might be already broken..

Where will Priya go and vent out her disappointment ??

If not anything Meera could atleast lend an ear and listen to what is hurting her and acknowledge that yes your pain , your disappointment , your anger is valid too. But probably now is not the right time, and you have to handle it little differently .

But no she will straight away go and tell " Koi Sawal jawab allowed nahi hain. Kuch nahi puchna mere Ram bacchhe se"

By curbing Priya's voice the moment she tries expressing her disappointment and even bad making her feel guilty for the same is the worst thing she can do to her mental health..

This will only reaffirm the wrong prejudice in Priya's heart that it is always the women who makes compromises.....

Honestly, the more spineless Meera becomes , the more she stands with folded hands for every damn thing, the more stone hearted and tough Priya would become..

A lot of mental health issues, prejudices and insecurities Priya is facing today is because she has been brought up in an extremely sexist environment where she has seen only women making all the compromises in the marriage and saying silent in spite of all injustice met to them and men getting away easily even though they are at fault..

Another thing is I feel Meera is not loyal to Akki too .The tone in which she said in sab mai apni shaadi ko kyu ghaseet rahi hai???

I mean the guy jeopardized his love life to get your daughter married . You can't turn a blind eye towards him. She seems to be more worried about her daughter's marriage which till this point is safe over Akki-Shivi marriage which is almost broken...

I didn't like her choice of words at all.

I agreeeeeee omg! Feel you with that whole running away, yuck I hate this character so much 😂

How ungrateful and vile of her to say that, especially about someone that is supposedly like a son to her.

I see where you're coming from, but that way Priya has also been very adjusting. In fact, especially in this situation, Priya is measured and careful with regard to the Shubham situation. Ram is more impulsive. Priya has managed her whole life, she'll continue to manage. If hypothetically she does walk out of a marriage where her partner doesn't fully trust her, is that so terrible?

Meera is not aware of Ram and Priya's dynamics. She knows what her daughter is capable of. Also, she thinks her daughter is very prejudiced against men. Of course, of all the men Meera has met, I mean her husband and her sons-in-law, Ram seems to be different. So her POV is that if her other daughters are still adjusting to their partners, Priya can also adjust. She is a little conservative that way. Also, if Akki-Shivi marriage needs a second chance, Priya has to be there with Ram. Only she can make him understand. Everyone in Priya's family knows that she is a problem solver.

Meera is about THE most irritating and off-putting character in the show, which says a lot, considering Vedika exists.

There's a line between being pleasant and even accomodating towards your child's in-laws and being nauseatingly obsequious. She's so much over that that she's disgusting. And I'm talking from the viewpoint of someone from her generation.

She is totally ott towards Ram too. And I agree with whoever said that Sara overdoes the OMG, isn't it just too awesomely wonderful, THE Ram Kapoor is in my family, ooooohhhh. Sure, Ram isn't really this asshole he's being currently portrayed as, but neither is he Mr. Wonderbar. He treats them as family, so reciprocation is fine, but not going all gooey-eyed. When Sara found out about Vedika, she should have spoken to Ram about not leaving her sister in the dark, and sternly at that. And given him an ultimatum to speak up or she would.

Meera has so little self esteem and self respect, she was probably grateful Ram even called her Aunty. I resent her binding Priya and Priya's reactions with her uninformed saintliness and sanskaar or whatever. It's a plot ploy, but it sends the wrong message. I'm not for militant feminism, but I'm certainly for standing up for what's right. It's not like Priya is so ill-mannered or brainless that her own reactions can't be trusted.

Errrr, sorry. A not-so-mini rant.

Disclaimer: I haven't watched anything but BTSs since Priya's drunk scene and read forum comments.

What a pity EK can't leave well enough alone.
