Why would it be illegal...They would have travelled to a country where it is legal and had the surrogate there. They don't need to do in US.

Romanticisation of childbirth has to really stop. If childbirth was a beautiful experience for one does not mean they should insist others to view it in the same way and any contrary view as less than.

Because then bringing the child back to the U.S. could have created problems. Parentage, citizenship, etc.

Childbirth is not romantic or beautiful. It's dirty and damned tough. It is however an extremely precious event because it is the only way right now to create a new human life.

But no place did I insist others view it the same way.

They are not stupid but very smart and knows how to use everything for publicity.

If you are too busy that can't meet during ovulation... still you can go for IUI or IVF not surrogacy.

And I don't think surrogacy is that much difficult in india

So in short PC iether you have fertility issues or you don't want to compromise your figure for natural pregnancy.

Asthma issues coz of all the smoke..inhaled coz of her relatives who smoke, coz of herself based on the couple of her pics we have seen with cig in her hand..and firecrackers on her wedding n elsewhere..

There can be many reasons..we shouldn't judge..her choice

Even if surrogacy is done for vanity reason, it's her choice end of the day. If there's no exploitation and there's been a fair trade of transaction, I think it's fine to rent someone's womb.

If the reasons we read are real then how will she put her life style on hold to take care of a baby who is 12 weeks early.. baby need alot of time and care not just hire a maid and done with it.

Renting a womb and become mother easy but it will miss the emotional attachment and in this case the baby need more effection.

Again her choice, her responsibility and her decision how she wants to bring up her child.

And which celebrities out there are 24/7 around their babies. Even if some are, doesn't mean all feel the need for it.

Emotional attachment doesn't come only through pregnancy or by being around the kid 24/7. End of the day, her child and she will decide what is appropriate for her and her family.

Agree. When someone says that only pregnancy can bring emotional attachment, they are disregarding all those mothers who have adopted their kids. When someone says that you need to be 24/7 around kid, they are disregarding all those working women, single mothers who are working hard to make living for their children or are career oriented. When you put the condition that mothers should be available 24/7 for kids, you indirectly discourage them to make some career choices which are already pretty hard.

If these celebrities are so emotionless avoid kids, why would they even have a child. They can easily be childfree and enjoy the life. They are going through surrogacy means they really want kids but just don’t want to go through the physical and mental trauma of pregnancy. I think it is perfectly fine.

The amount of scrutiny in this thread.

The reasons, complications, choices and responsibilities whatever may it may be is totally for them to decide and lead. How can we even assume why they opted for this decision, and on top of that judge them for it.

Having a baby through whatever means is so beautiful, life changing and at the same time so so personal. Please let them have their life changing moment without any scrutiny or judgement.
