Why doesn't Suhani speak up for herself

Hey guys 😊 This is my first post here as I watch this show sometimes with my mother for entertainment 😆 Vivian is love ❤️ On topic, one thing that I kinda find very irritating is why can't Suhani for once stand up for herself in front of her father or her annoying bua? I know Indian serials love to show their female leads as these abla naris who are submissive to everything and tasue bahati rhti hain bas. Same with her mother, same with Ranveer's mother, I would really like it if for once these 2 women would shut their husbands up. I honestly see little to no difference between Ranveer's dad and Suhani's father. Both care more about their reputation than their children's lives, and both are very controlling and least bothered about their children's feelings, though Suhani's dad is still better but he gets on my nerves with his orthodox thinking. And the less said about that bua the better. She is like those typical relatives who love to meddle in other people's children's lives more than their own. In these latest episodes I really wanted Suhani to firmly tell her father/family that they should let her live her life the way she wants to, and let her achieve her dreams, instead of crying all the time, Ranveer shouldn't always be there for her rescue. She is an MBBS student and about to become a doctor FFS, she should be more confident in herself and put forth her wishes more.

Welcome to the forum first of all 🤗

I can sympathize with her situation a little because I’ve grown up in an environment similar though not as extreme as hers. It’s hard to speak up especially in that type of place. We’ve seen that she has the capability to speak up with others, but in front of her father she can’t. That’s to blame on her upbringing, so there’s a lot of growth potential.

She did ask her father to let her study at the beginning of the show and after a little bit he agreed. 😆 I thought about this more and I think the combination of his health (all thanks to Vikrant 🤢) and her mom’s faltering will in this situation is bearing down on her.

That being said and done, I really hope she says something on Monday. The one episode gap between this and the roka has me suspicious that she might and I want her to at least try and say something. 😃 Take baby steps forward.

Hey there ❤️Omg your dp reminds me of the good old days, that vampire show 😳 OT- yeah I get your point, Suhani has been brought up in an environment where she respects her elders and her father's word is usually the last, it's hard to speak up especially given her nature, but she should sometimes do it, I think these serials should show the female leads a little more strong and confident. For example I didn't like how once Suhani's father got her out of her class just before her exam was about to start. And before that he just ordered her not to go to college, without even listening to her, makes me wonder if he trusts his daughter at all. Her mother also rarely speaks in front of her father and often fails to take a stand for her daughter, it's very disappointing to watch because it does happen in real life too. I hope in future Suhani develops more of a spine, would be nice to watch for a change 😊

Yeah I agree with you, she needs to start somewhere. At least give it a try like she did in the beginning. That’s all I ask from her right now is an attempt. I don’t want her to resign to her fate because her father is afraid of dying 😆

I don’t think he trusts her either to be honest the one time her mother stood against him to take her for the exam was very nice, even though Ranveer needed to convince her. He’s not a great parent 😆 sadly some of my relatives are the same way. One of my own uncles is trying to get my cousin married at 18.

I think this will be her character development. 👍🏼 They can’t fix all these problems in one day just like in real life; it doesn’t work that way. But to take one step in the right direction will be good for her. I hope the makers listen. 😳

IKR. It must be so hard and suffocating living with a father like Rakesh Like I get that he loves her but he is too overprotective and overbearing. He should trust his daughter more and let her take her own decisions. He is super controlling in the name of his "izzat" and all, just thopofying his decisions on his daughter like she is an object and not a living person with her own dreams/wishes and thought process. Suhani too like an obedient daughter is a "yes girl" in front of her father, I hope that changes a little. Emotionally blackmailing your children into getting married is an extremely toxic thing to do IMO. Ranveer's father is an A-grade a**hole but Ranveer knows how to put him in his place so that's good 😆 I like how Ranveer is not shown to be this obedient kid to his parents and he always speaks up for himself, or whenever he feels the other person is wrong, irrespective of the relationship he shares with them. He might be an obsessive loverboy, but he is also logical/rational and a no-nonsense person, l adore him ❤️ And I wish he also encourages his mother more into not tolerating his father's nonsense all the time

Bold- Omg that's bad 18 is such a young age yar, most of the people aren't even mature enough in their teens and getting someone married at that age is horrific 😒Your cousin is literally still a child. I know relatives can be super annoying, especially when it comes to topics like marriage and kids, I am 27 and unmarried, and right now I am happy that way, but rishtedaron ko smj nee ata ye, pareshan to karna hi hota hai thoda parents ko 😆 It gets kinda difficult for girls to deal with their relatives once they cross 24/25, people seriously need to stop being so nosy because marriage is a personal choice at the end of the day, it should be none of anyone's business 🤔

yes i love Ranveer character he can stand for himself or even encourage others to stand for themselves like his mom & once he tried with sudha and trying with suhaani i am sure suhaani will change and learn from Ranveer how to grow a spine it just the pace will be slow as its daily show

Yeah it is 😔 but we can’t convince him against it and it seems like my cousin is okay with it too 😒 back on topic though, parents like Rakesh definitely exist, and the trope of “oh I might die or something might happen so I need to get my kids married” is a thing I’ve seen in a lot of ITV shows and old Bollywood movies. I hate it, no logic whatsoever 🤣

my relatives are pestering me about marriage as soon as I got my masters 😆 so seeing Suhaani’s bua and all, it can happen 😵 it’s annoying but it really can happen 🤣 they think that marriage is this magical bandaid for everything when it’s not

if suhaani did get married into this family, I can guarantee they wouldn’t let her study further 😆

Yeah well especially in a country like India,it gets extremely difficult for a girl to manage her studies and her in-laws family simultaneously, even if her husband and in-laws are super supportive of her. And well I hope you don't give into their pestering and get married as per your choice 😆
