He replaced Aish because Salman disrupted the shooting of Chalte Chalte multiple times and kept dragging Aish with him. Of course SRK didn't want to make an enemy of Salman considering the latter's connections.
Still a dick move like I said before in this thread but Salman is definitely to blame overall for this and in general harassing Aish for years.
Of course, Salman is definitely to blame. He abused Aishwarya and behaved abominably. That can and is true, but SRK has his own individual agency in deciding how to respond. He chose, and he deserves criticism for the choices he made. He was complicit in punishing the victim for her abuser's harassment and bullying.
"Making an enemy of the latter would be foolish."
That's an excuse. SRK, his PR, and his fans like to talk about him as the King of Bollywood, biggest star, richest actor, blah blah blah.
He is not some sort of helpless bechara. And he had plenty of spats with Salman, Aamir, and Hrithik over the years anyway. He is a public figure and accountable for his actions, and he should be held responsible for decisions and choices he made.
