India has NO national language . BB was so stupid in yesterdayâs episode and made a fool of itself
Hindi is majorly speaking language but NOT a national language
Exactly that is first thing I said as well. Hindi is not our national language. Itâs one of the official Indian languages.
One of the many falsehoods that we are taught as kids for generations and keep on carrying always. Now in the era of social media and technology we are reading and understanding that majority stuff that we read as child in 90s and before were false. đOriginally posted by: DaddyMarvel

P. S. My personal opinion is that pure Hindi (and not the hindi infected by urdu) should be India's national language. We need a common language. But that's not happening. đ€Ș

That cannot happen because India adopted multilinguism as its lingustic policy + there would be at best around 40% of the population that can speak Hindi!
And there are states in India where people don't even speak in an Indo-Aryan language but languages from a completely different family that has nothing in common with Hindi and other Indo-Aryan languages!
I would call it 70% that CAN speak hindi. But how many WANT to speak hindi would be around 40% .. There are many areas where people know and can speak hindi but don't because its not their primary language.Originally posted by: Padmajaan

My theory is that they donât have a term for OFFICIAL LANGUAGE, and that RAASHTRABHASHA is convenient (and lazy) to use. đ€·đ»ââïž

No re; you will be surprised, no way can it be 70%. The Hindi belt is truly limited to certain regions. Most of the southern belt, most of the North-Eastern belt, most of Kashmir, Ladhak, etc. do not speak Hindi at all.
