The megastar who was supposed to beat Khans, also gave flops in 2001 until K3G saved him. He beat Khans only in 2006 when Krissh (papa ki rehmat) and Dhoom 2 saved him.

But he could not sustain the momentum at all and since then not a single Hrithik film has been highest grosser of the year nor an ATBB.

People now talk of Ajay, Akki, Ranbir, Ranveer, Varun. Dream of being next #1 superstar and overtaking Khans remained there and then.

Hrithik had one flop in 2001 - his first one - Yaadein. He beat the Khans in 2000 (KHNP), 2003 (KMG) then twice in 2006. Fascinating that he was saved by 3 HGOTY and 3 blockbusters and a superhit in 7 years. Whereas all the Khans just earn their blockbusters and hits and their flops are someone esles fault.

War was HGOTY in 2019 which would mean he's had a more recent HGOTY and blockbuster than any of the Khans. Super 30 was a superhit so he's also had a more recent superhit than any of the Khans.

His dad saved him. 😆 The man who has directed one blockbuster (which required SRK & Salman) in his career without Hrithik and three with him. The man who had to mortgage his house, cars and watches to make KNPH for 10cr and is now worth a thousand+ crore thanks to his sons talent..
