I have feeling abhi saw adoption papers and manjari covered it with some lie. Maybe telling neil is adopted but not to tell this truth to anyone.

Till now Arohis only mistake was she didnt clarify the misunderstanding and the illusion was completely created by Manjeri and Abhi. So this reason is not enough to break the alliance now. Arohi saw Abhi with the photo, and now the count down has started. she will start digging her own grave and will get trapped in her own lies. When truth unfolds in front of Abhi and understands the equation between the sisters, he will reject her again. And Abhi is not a character who can manipulate, or play mind games or be easily threatened. He is a straightforward person and believes what he sees and what his loved ones speak, ie, manjeri and Ak. He can emotionally bend only for his mom and Ak. Both the families too probably will understand the complete scenario and realise the sacrifices of Ak and would want to unite Abhira. And then the file with adoption paper might end in Arohis hand and she might throw that bomb on everybodies faces to take revenge and make Goenkas and Ak to back out from marriage. Ak here will stand for herself hopefully and accept shattered Abhi wholeheartedly where abhi and both the families realise her selfless love which is very much needed to show that its not a forced marriage or leftover.

But where does higher studies factor fit in yet to be seen..

Aarohi can't do anything with anyone. The only person she could blackmail is akshu that too only because akshu gave her that power. Or else she is as good as dummy mummy

See adoption will use by aarohi to break Akshara nd abhimanyu marriage....
