So you have to put up with this. It cannot be helped. She chose her self respect, she never said she is choosing to not love Aditya. We know Aditya has done some irreparable damage, and so we know he doesn't deserve her devotion, but jo reality hai woh hai.

Dekha jaaye to Aryan ki jiju bhakti bhi irritate karegi sab ko. Kyunki Imlie ke liye concern ka reason woh hi hai, love nahi. Attracted hone aur pyaar hone me farq hai. He is her mentor, not lover. He empathizes with her, but that's it.

AryLie are both going to be pushed into a equation when ideally they aren't looking for one. Certain things happen even if we don't wish to happen that way. AdiLie was the same, AryLie too will be the same. Just hope it does not culminate into a coerced marriage like last time.

I agree libranji. She's human after all waqt lagega. We can't expect her to jump from one man to another just like that. She's trying her best to move on but that doesn't mean she stops yearning for Adi's love. Zakham bharne me waqt lagta hai. I didn't feel irritated with her but felt pain for what she was going through. It's so tough to accept that the person who claimed to love you could hurt & break you so much.

And jokes apart but it's very difficult to come out of it because most of the time victims end up questioning themselves and their actions more than the perpetrators.

"if you didn't do that, I wouldn't have to do this"

And "if only you told me/explained/obeyed me.... Then nothing of this sort would happen"

I read written update... I don't think it's so bad.

I agree with this. It would be odd for Imlie to totally be over Aditya. She’s young, she entered a relationship unwillingly (even if it was to save Adi- that’s called humanity), stuck by it bc it saved her mother’s honor, and she was so young that she kept to the advice of nurturing that marriage because she didn’t know better.

For a whole year of her life, she lived as a married woman, she became attached to everything that came along with Adi
family, love and Adi, himself, eventually. That trajectory reinforced the conditioning of “efforts are rewarded” or “no pain no gain.” Finally having the carrot that was dangled in front of her deluded Imlie into thinking that her hard work towards this marriage was worth it. She’s bound to think all it takes is effort to attain that sense of balance again. Imlie lived in this delusion despite all the warning signs that the 50-50 effort btwn AdiLie was becoming highly skewed and she was shouldering it 80-20 (or whatever percentage. What I’m getting at is that she tirelessly put in effort). She worked on her marriage, until she starting pushing Adi to be more accountable and finally she just broke.

All day, she experiences trial by fire and taunts — the amount of armor she needs to wear just to survive her day allows me to believe that when she’s alone in a corner, sitting in the dark by the glow of a faint light
 finally in a safe place
she can become the young, scared, hurt broken 19 year old girl that she is. She’s not even an adult. So I’m not too concerned that she feels remorse and regret while wishing the realities of things were different.

I think it was good that Aryan was present to hear her ruminations because he doesn’t need to guess about whatever Imlie is feeling now or in the future. He can make an inference that she’ll be emotionally unavailable for quite some time. She’s good at hiding and he’s good at calling it straight - this frankness will only benefit both of them. Plus, it allows us to see that Aryan is only aware of Imlie’s relationship with Aditya as it is now, he has no clue about when the times were good.
Thus, we as the audience, know where Aru’s challenges in further emotionally connecting with Imlie will come from. I have a feeling she’ll snap at him for assuming to know all about her romantic life at some point and divulge the moments that kept her pushing her broken wagon of a relationship. From here, he has the opportunity to better understand the reservations towards intimacy and relationships pre-marriage Imlie had; and how those feeling evolved and warped over time. AryLie will then have the chance to embark on a story of their own making and consent.

precap: ugh, annoyed. Sort of wish Aryan will use his coat instead bc this type of screenplay feels like it’s done to intentionally incite fan feelings and detract away from Imlie’s story. I can see it as “oh Imlie allowed Aru to touch her like that” đŸ€Ș

Beautiful! And well said. I agree with it all. She is so so young. She loves Aditya. She separated from him and told him what she wanted in order to come back. Next thing she knows this man is handing her divorce papers. This here is moving faster than a speeding bullet and she's struggling with accepting reality because she has a heart.

She's also a believer. She doesn't know that the "A" doesn't stand for Aditya, not for her anyway. The slightest signs give her such hope. Hope that despite everything isn't yet extinguished. And it makes sense. I would be disappointed if she was already "moved on" in her heart and daydreaming of Aryan. That would feel inorganic and would also be doing a huge disservice to her character.

I was also happy that Aryan heard her words. That scene served 3 purposes: (1) it showed him the same frame as the "A" and focused in on him, spelling it out. (2) Right now Aryan's like that bestie that is trying to help you stay away from that toxic bf that keeps sucking you back in. (3) If they have any romantic future together, it'll be one in which Imlie drags her feet, so he should know exactly how hard this "break up" is for her.

I love the bold. One day when Aryan makes peace with his own loss he will learn to let go off his hatred towards Aditya. And Imlie will help him.

If she slaps him - cute sorry scene

if she doesn't slap - their mutual understanding/trust level reaches sky
