Depends on content, Bou Kotha Kou lasted more than 3 years but Gustakh Dil wrapped up within one year, but they covered almost all the major twists of the original and they did it quickly.

However Ogo Bodhu Sundori lasted a little more than one year and Sasural Genda Phool lasted about two years and they added many new plot points apart from what the original story had.

So even if basic story remains same, how the makers treat the tracks that play out makes a huge difference.

I am sure it is not just to do with Tota Roy Choudhury's commitments that the character was killed off at the show's end. The makers may have had an entire plotpoint around this but it couldn't be played out well in a hurry.

We need to remember that Sreemoyee/Anupamaa is not Rohit/Anuj's story and it is NOT a love story. It is more about breaking stereotypes in society and for a middle aged divorcee mother of three to remarry and marry out of love and not convenience, is breaking one such stereotype.

Showing Anuj's death is not essential to the above message!

Rohit's illness was the reason Sreemoyee was motivated to marry him because everyone else around her except Pratyush (Samar) liked Rohit but hated the idea of her marrying him. In Anupamaa, she already got the motivation by Hasmukh and Vanraj's encouragement, so let's see. They might not even need to show the terminal illness track.

What a pathetic ending. Sadistic to give such an ending to a character like sreemoyee who spent over 20 years living a unhappy life, and finally got true love and happiness after long only for it to be stripped away from her again and she alone in the end 😡 Rajan shahi better not do this here in anupama. No terminal illness for anuj should ge shown. Hopefully rajan shahi himself will have disliked this ending.

yeah true...i guess im just thinking of other actors in the past who got bitten by the bollywood bug and left halfway...but the time they try to come back, everyone has already moved on to the next flavor of the month...plus i read somewhere that gaurav doesnt like to play characters for very long....
