If he really wanted to move on, he should have told his family he will marry anyone BUT Aarohi. He wants to make Akshara hurt - what kind of love is this?

jab mithat khilayee thi abhi ne akshu ko kitchen mein...i thought he wanted to hurt her....per ab aisa nahi lagta....he just wanted to run away...gusse mein tha...irrational decision liya...bande ki kismat bhi phooti nikli...move on karne ke liye arohi hi mili....😂

soch ke lagta hai...accha hua akshu bach gayee...harsh to use bilkul harshly treat karta....😂

It’s true and sad - I don’t live in India but I have family I visit every year (at least I did before Covid😭). My cousins all have more progressive lives than my aunts and uncles (all arranged marriages in that generation and very few working women) but the TV tropes have got WORSE! (I never watched Kabir Singh - after the comments in this forum I don’t want to 😵).

Haha. Don't. I haven't watched Kabir Singh. I watched the original Arjun Reddy. 😂 It was as terrible.

I live in India only and I love Bollywoodesque romance that I am willing to close my eyes towards a few problematic stuff. Like Raj and Rahul are the most problematic ever, but I would be like nah, it's okay. It's SRK charm and all. But oh God, "alpha males", I can't. 😂

Exactly!
Kartik was such a dream boy in the beginning - supportive, calm, kind, loving. Then writers ne shaadi ke baad character ki dhajjiya uddai. Don’t know why - it would have been so refreshing to have kept Kartik as he started out. He was not a push over - strong tha per toxic nahi tha. Abhi in the beginning was also strong, dealing with his own demons but centered - itna vindictive banane ki zaroorat nahi thi.

I am serious. The only good thing about Mills and Boons were, it was written by women and gave importance to female pleasure in a world full of male gaze. Of course that the entire characterisation of heroines in the books are through male gaze only. The only good thing about those books were the sex scenes even though unrealistic most of the times. 😆

Agree about SRK - charm makes up for a lot of flaws! HC also is very charming but I don’t see it in Abhi (he’s only angry, in Bepannah Aditya Hooda was playful even when he was angry so it was bearable).

I really like Ki and Ka - I wish more Bollywood movies explored that type of ML.

Yes 100% agree - here we have also Harlequin romance novels that are the same.
