MeToo movement was turned into a joke today

#MeToo movement showed how women spoke about their offenders and predators after years. But the main thing was they were called out. Blaming the victim, doubting her intention just to prove the predator was right as the girl did not object till she was benefitting from the person...Salman turned everything into a mere joke and justified him saying Bichukle got carried away just because Deboleena's intention was questionable.

Don't care about the contestants when a serious issue was shown as a mere JOKE gone wrong between two supposed FRIENDS.

It became a joke way back in Season 13, when Debo wanted to implicate Sid in 'me too' for a mere BB task...that's the importance of the movement for contestants like her.

I don't understand how anyone can say she didn't object until the task was over🤔. I saw her objecting over and over during the game. She kept telling him no and to stop.

The point was she should empower herself and stop interacting with people like Bichkle. When she was feeling uncomfortable, she should have distanced herself instead of continuing to play with him in the task.

That's the point of Me too movement, women speak up and speak up at the right time.

Also, another point is that she should have discussed this with Bichukle and if wasn't getting the point then involve another person who could deal with the matter sensibly. She decided to involve Rakhi and Teja who used this situation to their advantage.

I don't want to go into MeToo moment as that's a very big issue but here Devo said I gave him benefit of doubt par itna benefit of doubt kyu. She net him in BB he is not long lost friend or relative. Tom if a girl tells me tu mere mama ka beta hai par tu mere pyaar mein girega I will obviously move backward from the person rather than giving benefit of doubt. Bichkule ne aankh maari phir bhi tum benefit of doubt de rahi. Bichkule ki language crap thi with Shamita and aap uska support kar bol rahe ho lingo problem hai. Salman was right first time hi bakwaas kare phir avoid karo ya better bolo muh pe and all told Devo to maintain distance from Bichkule she herself defended Bichkule.

Yeh sab inke forced justification, clarification and narrative set karne ke chakkar me... they have successfully made the audience forget that there is a creep still sitting inside that house and who has been given a clean chit for his behavior on NTV.

Instead, they ensured to show the entire nation that the girl is to be blamed for allowing him leeway, she also utilized the opportunity for her benefit, she apparently "asked for it" and men will be men because unse ungli diya hai toh obviously wo haath pakad hi lega.

Both men and women face harrasment in workplaces like this and it takes them ages to figure out whether they should laugh it off/ignore it or react back considering the place and person.

When shows like this justify such nonsense on NTV, it really sets back all the efforts people have put in to help victims in such circumstances.

Leaving aside individual contestants, when the show through the hosts lips justify comments like you cannot pick and choose when you are comfortable, is setting back the me too movement 10 years. Yes, anyone, be it a man or a woman or a nonbinary person, can pick and choose exactly the moment they feel uncomfortable and have to be taken seriously when the feeling of unease is conveyed. That's the whole concept of date rape.. Just because you were comfortable enough to go on a date with someone, doesn't mean no one should believe you when claim you were not comfortable with what happened later.

Also ungli diya hain toh haath toh pakdega is an idiom that refers to entitlement in a negative connotation. Trying to justify it as correct is SO problematic! Although the host did say Devo didn't give ungli, but the statement is correct. The statement is another bull shit. If give you my ungli, means I gave you permission to hold my ungli, not my hand. So if you proceed to hold my hand after that and I express my unease with it, my feelings are validated.

Today was a sad day for me too

Irrespective of who supported whom.

Right or wrong does not change

Devo ko is topic pe bash karke what example Sallu and colors are setting ki girls bardaasht kro 😡.

And in our country jisme nonsense se inspire hone walo ki kami nhi tabhi to stalking is glorified from craps like RHTDM and Tere naam ,BB ne bhi initiative le liya ki kiss maangna is not wrong ..

I m sorry but convenience or convenience

Sooner or later

Task k dauraan or task k baad

Devo was not wrong here .

Just bcoz she is crazy and she made nonsense me too comments earlier ,does not mean she should tolerate this .

Big thumbs down to everyone supporting this

Hmm i think Salman did say very clearly that Biichukle was wrong. But i guess he wanted to also prove that Devo wasn't completely innocent as she let Bichukle behave the way he was or she didn't react strongly as she wanted him to steal things for her. Which could be true or not be true? But nonetheless Bichukle was wrong in either case.

But would just like to point put that Metoo is was slightly different as the offenders were in the positions of power and the victims were not, hence most of the times they couldn't voice out the harassment they were going through. Here that is not the case.

Also i feel in this case specifically Devo was defending Bichukle as long as he was misbehaving with Shamita. But the moment it happened with her she realized how wrong he is. That is the real convenience as per me. But i guess its human as well. Until something doesn't happen with you one doesn't realize.

Exactly, that's the point. Me too movement was for women whose offenders were in a position of power and therefore couldn't react. Devo has no such constraints and Salman rightly told her to react at the right time and not react as per convenience. She should stay away from Bichkle now.
