Sayantani - The rising Bengali Star
In the fast paced world of Indian television, where new channels, new shows and new faces are launched on a daily basis, some still manage to stand tall above the heap. Sayantani Ghosh is one of them.
A true Bengali beauty (She's also been Miss Kolkata), Sayantani, like most of her Bolly counterparts, started as a model and soon progressed to Bengali cinema. How then did television happen? "I happened to be in Mumbai by chance and was what you call 'spotted'. Since I didn't have any mind block against television, I stayed back for it," reveals Sayantani. But wasn't she even momentarily apprehensive about following films with television, when most people take the opposite route? The medium does not matter, she exclaims, adding, "TV is so very popular these days. Plus, it brings you national recognition."
