I am so tired of the watching how the Hindi series portray Indian who are brought up in America😔!!!!!!! I just saw Yash on Astiva and if he was living in the US he would be described as being "flamboyant dysfunctional homosexual male who has anger issues"!!!!!!! I just saw his wife beater red shirt he was wearing (for those of who don't know what I am talking about …it is the red tank top he was wearing). He has this ugly tattoo on his arm and was wearing some homemade looking thing around his neck which I guess he considers necklace (I know of no man who would be caught wearing that thing around their neck..for that fact no women). All those rings coming out of his ear…eyebrow and god know where else he may have…….. I am not sure what the director is thinking and maybe he needs to travel outside of India more and get a better picture of what we are all about. I have lived here all my life which is long 35 years and have yet to come across anyone who looks like that!!!!!!! We are the best that India has to offer and are very proud to be Indian Americans! What is worse is not only how that Ugly Yash is portrayed but he sure does not sound like an ABCD with that wimpy & squeaky voice & accent.

Thanks Texan. You are so right. I have also lived in the US most of my life and get quite frustrated about how we Indian-Americans are potrayed by Bollywood. On the other hand, I see Indians from India who are way more forward than we are (in spite of living in this Western society) but that's supposed to be quite ok because they are just being 'hip'. I am so sick of this hypocritcal approach.

First generation Indians who live abroad are to blame for all of this they sit there teaching their kids about Indian "Culture" from when they lived there but dont modernise it. So when the second generation learn about and live abroad from the begining they do try and change things. I have seen many people who come from India into the US and completely loose it !!! It takes them less than a few hours to get an american accent yet they may have lived in India for 30yrs. Then when they go back they have such a messed up idea of things they are never the same!! Have you never noticed your friends from India who come over for a Holiday?? I am talking here of the majority and note there a few how do not sit in thia unfortunatley there are the majority who do!!

It is obvious that this kid Yash is of the mixed up kind he has been recieving money for nothing and cant see for himself who is right and who is wrong. He has no respect for anyone ( Calling hios dad as he knew it Mr anil shourie then finding out that Mr shourie was not his father and then cant see what his MUM?? Kiran is all about. Its obvious he has no clue hense doesn't know where an earing is supposed to go!! with that style of talking and dressing he was obviously of those with out any friends!!

So guys lets not take it as he is a representative of us NRI's lets taske it as we are!!!!!! He is just the bad egg!!

I really agree with desiatheart

I can really connect with her.............it depends on the first generation who came to the US. My parents were here in early 70's so they kept the Indian culture. I noticed the the ones coming here in the 90's under this computer software who try to run away from their culture. I have really tried to keep what I have of the beautiful and wonderful culture that my parents taught me about yet the software bunch run from it!!!!!!!!!!!I really agree with desiatheart

I have noticed this NRI bashing in quite a few Bollywood movies and teleserials. Why do they ahve to give such distorted image of us who live here ? Its really sick.
