So is Oye Oye, which inspired many ads too in 90s.

Tridev, Vishwatma, Gupt, Mohra air almost every other day on movie channels. That is their level of popularity and repeat value.

Yes. Miss his masala films, iconic villains and multi starrers with kickass music.

Addicted to Tridev and Gupt which I never miss when theg are aired on TV.

Rajiv Rai was master of suspense films and action based masala films, multi starrers that had many top villains of that time in same film too.

He showcased all actors well in his multi starrers. Mohra did complete justice to Akshay and Sunil. Neither looked shortchanged.

Tridev is my favorite thanks to its music and Amrish Puri who was fabulous as Bhujang. And Gupt was top thriller.

No one could have expected Kajol to be the killer in that film. Rajiv Rai was ahead of the times when he made Gupt. His sense of music and pace of films was great.

Very few filmmakers know how to handle pace of films. Rai had that sense.

I think he edited his movies too...

Too bad in 1997, he had to leave India with his family for the UK (after a failed attempt to kill him by hitmen believed to be working for the Mumbai underworld leader Abu Salem)

Loved his style of movie making. Very wholesome indeed with the right mix of all the elements needed for an entertaining paisa vasool watch. He should come back to movie making.

that time of real masala bollywood movies is gone 😭

now all just fake to make masala bullywood stuff 😡
