1995 DDLJ came but has been followed by a string of flops and a dull period. His real stardom started with KKHH in 1998 and ended with OSO in 2007.

After that he has had one after another damp squibs starting with RNBDJ, Dilwale, MNIK, JTHJ etc. while the other two Khans kept giving one BB after another like Dabbang, Lagaan, Ghajini, Wanted, Ready, Kick, Dangal etc.

Your generosity doesn’t extend to the India’s only Megastar? You ended his career at 1986 when he has had hits as well as critically acclaimed movies every year until all the way till 1992 with Kudha Gawaah?

usko PRK aise hi thodi bolte log

He used a flop film badshah to call himself badshah in 1999 but it didn't last long as hrithik came in 2000 and gave him sleepless nights till 2009 😆

khan naam ka thagda fayda utaya bande ne dus saal se

soch agar hrithik ya akshay hota iske jagah toh kya haal hota

Right, makes total sense.

The fact is Amitabh was over by 1986.tops.and 90s saw his ABCL flopping. It wasn't until KBC in 2001 that he saw a reinvention.

SRK ruled from 1995 to 2015, give or take, as the no 1 star, Not even Aamir or Sallu Bhai could stop that. That is just a fact and the box office records speak for themselves. Please don't let your anti-Khan bias blind you to that fact.

Technically more like 1995-2007/08.. OSO was his last hurrah.. 😊

The same Saif held his own with the same Pankaj in Sacred Games 😊 and even with Nawaz. Script matters.

Does it imply that script doesn't matter to Pankaj in BNB2?Script matter to every actor out there.

Ganesh Gaitonde is synonymous with Sacred Games.Namaz destroyed Saif in that series.Pankaj was better than him in the sequel.

Nawaz and Pankaj are amazing no doubt. But you're going to find very few agreeing Saif didn't hold his own in Sacred Games.

And there's always going to be someone better. It doesn't mean the person under discussion is deficient.

The question was about what keeps Saif alive in Bollywood. Answer is he actually is a very good actor. You can dig out Anthony Hopkins or Meryl Streep or Bharatha Muni. It still won't make Saif not a good actor. They might be better, but he is still an excellent performer.

And no, Pankaj was not served well by BB2, either.

You have not seen the dross called BB2.Pankaj was much better though.

You drew comparison between two actors.Saif is not an excellent actor as you make him to be.

This is the third time he has effed up a role from heartland. Bullet Raja,Bhoot Police and BB2.

No, sir/madam. I didn't. The OP's comparison was between Saif and Hrithik, and even someone like me who enjoys watching Hrithik will admit Saif is several magnitudes better in acting.

That is the only comparison I made until your response about BB2 and Pankaj Tripathi.

As for Saif's acting skills: the fact you needed to go to Tripathi's level to paint Saif in a less than flattering light itself says volumes.

Langada Tiagi says hello; he stole the show in Tanhaji. And audiences enjoyed Saif in bhoot police. Script matters.

You can't use movies that audiences and critics disliked from the foundation of the script itself to paint someone out to be deficient. No, Saif is naturally not comfortable with very "desi" roles but with a good script and director, he flies.

Oh, yeah. I don't know how I forgot about Langda Tyagi!
