Okay, finally caught up on all the episodes and finally I can write the thesis that Juvvi and Seera have been hounding me about
.
One of the reasons I have been putting off watching the episodes, coz a lot of them these week are ones that need to be seen together to get a sense of perspective for what the characters are actually thinking and where the story is trying to go.
I have always been an unapologetic Adi supporter and still am - no matter what any says or even what the writers make him say😆. While I still love him, I have also been one to call out on his stupidity, including calling him as khadoos, kanjoos and ostrich, among others. I am not a blind bhakt of any character, but I feel that Adi has always unnecessarily bore the brunt of everyone's expectations from the makers to resolve the Malini situation.
A few points from my side on him:
- People holding him responsible for not saying or doing anything to prove Malini wrong - Malini till date has very sweetly manipulated the situation so that she looks bechaari - even Imlie said that till Adi considers her as a bechari, he is never going to trust what Imlie is saying. Malini has never given Adi a reason to doubt her - while I hate Malini as a character, I specifically saw her scenes in the last 3 episodes, and it is visible that she is mixing in some truths with a lot of lies - that makes her narrative that much more compelling to believe. Even the Adi who knows his Imlie would never give him a reason to doubt her, was influenced enough to think of the reasons why the owner of a newspaper suddenly has taken interest in an intern. Even if we place a jagged stone under a waterfall it will be affected by it - yeh to bechara ek flawed insaan hai. Malini is still in that house, because the T family feel that her health is their responsibility due to the baby (which BTW, Imlie was the who who instilled in their head and gave them that responsibility to take care off in her absence).
- Adi's jealousy - I still feel that while his statement was more of his protective nature coming out in the worst way possible, my contention is that even if the guy is jealous that another man is taking interest in his wife - he freaking hell is justified for it. See Imlie has never given the man the reassurance he needs that she loves only him, no matter the situation. Whether be it PD3 or even recently, while she has given a lot of bhashans to Malini about how much she loves Adi - she funnily has never said it to Adi directly. While her actions show it, Adi has never been reassured that no matter what, Imlie will always choose him, while he has told her time and again that he is only hers and that no matter where she goes, he will always be her husband and she will be his wife. Adi's reassurance of his love for Imlie was the reason she was able to fight with Malini for him, but she has never reassured him that she will always be his - no matter where she goes. Never once has she asked Adi to deal with the guilt he has of wronging Malini - she is able to hold Malini responsible, but still gives her the leeway that she changed only after her mother influenced her (jab ki she started changing much before that, especially during Adi's kidnapping), but never once told Adi that if you do not believe me, at least talk to Malini and discuss this situation, so that she can get over the fact that you have betrayed her, even though you never meant to. Imlie never addressed Adi's guilt the way Adi addressed Imlie's insecurities, yet people will always say that she is justified in her anger. She burnt down her married symbols, showing that rishta khatam & baat khatam - to the extent that today Adi is scared to even talk to her or question her directly as he said today (that scene reminded me of how Adi said the same thing to Malini once when she asked for the truth from him before the sindoor kand). But nahi, Adi hi galat hai because he had the audacity to question the fact that an intern has been given the privilege of a front page for her first article, which though being good, was wrongly placed.
- Yesterday & Today's reaction - Adi went from being annoyed at not receiving any input from Imlie on her assignment to see Imlie's article on the front page. Does he doubt her capabilities - absolutely not. Does he feel that she deserves the applause - absolutely yes. Does he feel that it should have come on the front page of the newspaper - definitely not, and he would've pointed that out even if Imlie was living with him as his wife. Malini's words did affect him - it would affect anyone who already is walking on shaky ground and people add fuel to fire. But do I fault him for his reaction - nope I do not. Adi's reaction will be like any husband who would take offence at the insinuation that his wife is using favors from her friend to reach the top. If someone like Malini can think & say it, it will not take much time for people around his office to say these things to Imlie's face. Just the fact that Imlie was being driven by ASR got a reaction from the warden who already had issues with Imlie, so you can imagine what kind of reaction her peers and colleagues at the office will give, if she keeps getting preference over others just because ASR wants to push her to the forefront. Adi is completely valid in his concern that Imlie may land up getting into a mess if tomorrow ASR decides to play with her career - he wants Imlie to be savdhaan and not allow these things to drive her career, which he really wants to be successful & soar - even if he is not beside her while she achieves her pinnacle.
While I really can write a thesis on the guy, my point will always remain the same - while he is flawed, he has always owned up to his mistakes and has always been ready for getting punished when he felt he was guilty. Even now he is being punished for asking to hear his wife's side of a conflicted story (agree his timing and words were completely wrong at that time), yet woh banda actually uff tak nahi karta. Puri duniya usse bahut saari cheezien keh rahi hai, but I will stand by the fact that even today, Adi's character is relatable and makes sense to me - no matter the people who think otherwise (you know who I am talking about).
Thussi aagayai… meh bakwas pe bakwass lik chuki hai… Chalo theek hai…
Jokes aside and in all seriousness very well stated and detailed .. just that I don’t know about that whole ppl will view favouritism cos it’s asr pulling the shots not akt … I unless we view it as the owner has for some reason taken personal interest in imlie and they think akt and his relationship with editor would have something to do with it?
You raised an interesting point that adI is insecure about imlie leaving him … not that her love is in doubt at least for me but she has left him before even when she has loved him and now she walked out.. let’s not discuss why cos both are super wrong but this fear in him has been there since day one
One thing I will add.. imlie said to adI nowdays everything I do you think is wrong. U never ask me but pass judgment … this and this is what she has been doing to him all this while for Didi lately and he always felt judged due to Didi IMO ( to him Didi is not important like to imlie asr is not important) and today the wheels have turned cos of asr .. makes sense?
