Does Neha not have the freedom to be happy or unhappy or make decisions in her own marriage? Who is Sona to dictate when she should be ready to speak to Ranveer?

Also I really don't think she fell out of love with Ranveer- especially not because of amenities. Neha grew up extremely poor, and Ranveer lives in a 2 room house with 5-6 people. After marriage, she was transported back to the trauma of her childhood, having to forego her comfort and dreams to take care of a family. Why should she live a life like that? She has every right to leave when she realised that's not the life she hoped for.

Sonakshi was blind and blatantly disrespectful to other people's values, their circumstances, their privacy. The Dixits didn't come from the same comfortable background that she came from, their way of reacting to situations might not have been right, but it's because of their situation not because they're bad people. Sonakshi never bothered to understand these circumstances, actually none of the characters did.

That way, so many things Dev did was with selfless intention to help, not to hurt. But an action can simultaneously help someone and hurt someone else- like when he broke up with Sonakshi to make his mother happy. Dev was impulsive and messy- that's who he is, Sonakshi is sensible and sorted- that's who she is.

Sona never dictated neha neither disrespectful to any dixit members.. And ranveer was not ex. It was always sona's privacy invaded. Here Sona just wanted them to talk n solve. I think you see sona as outsider that's why you feel so. For me it's general that elders try to mend. Buts it's ok you are not considering her efforts for bringing them together. And I see from sona perspective, I would do the same. Neha knew before marriage what she is getting into. Ranveer was not bad person who dont treat her like outsider. So, it was neha who realised she needs luxury life over love life after marriage and didnot even thought she would spoil ranveer life. Infact i expected neha would adjust easily in ranveer house as she experienced from childhood how poor life is. If she was rich throughout life, then it would hv been difficult to adjust. And sadly she chose luxury over love. And she was bad with ranveer. No body will ticket to hurt someone bcoz of their bad past. That's my openion on neha.

Definitely neha has choice to choose her life. If she had told she cannot live with him n wants divorce, I don't think anyone would stop her.

And also sona never took decision for neha. What if she had treated neha as outsider which many family do. Once daughter married they bcom paraya. But kind hearted sona, after hearing so much from neha n family still went up to neha n asked if she can make smoothly for her. How ungreatful neha was. I always heard who grown from poor to rich remains grounded n value things around them. Unfortunately neha didnot. She herself is the reason for her sad life.

Now let us stop here. Bcoz you see from neha's perspective n I see from general perspective. And my openion will not change for sona. And I wish to get DIL like sona. If I get sona kind of DIL, I would consider myself lucky. Finger crossed..

There are basic, practical compromises needed to lay a foundation for a happily married life. Neha didn’t have a problem with Ranveer’s family. She just didn’t have her privacy, starting with her wedding night. She understood. Karte karte karte, just so many factors played and things happened that she realized that love wasn’t enough. The experiences took her back to her own childhood where she didn’t have a single luxury. When Sona went to her family for a few days on Bhai Dooj, Dev got super restless and wanted to bring her back immediately. Neha even said at that point “Bhai itna restless ho rahe hain bhabhi ke bina and Ranveer ne ek call tak ni kiya”. She just wanted those little efforts that Dev & Sona DID put for each other even when they were in disagreement. I don’t blame Neha in this, I do think therapy would’ve done her good, she’s traumatized.

If sona had demanded like neha seperate house, I don't think dev would ever turn back to sona. That neha didnot understand.

In krp3, atleast they could hv made realise dixits how n what sona went through n what all adjustments she did. But sadly realisation part majorly missing in krp.

Dev just liked spending time with his family/Sona in particular because she was his only friend. Sona had Saurabh, Elena, her parents. Dev didn’t. He only had Sona. I just find it unfair to put the blame on Dev. He just wanted Sona to be happy, that’s it.

Sona wasn’t into fasting & all, yet she observed the Navratri fasts & dev got angry saying why are you fasting if you don’t want to etc. etc. then Sona said I wanted to do myself (after another drama). Sona wasn’t into cooking, Dev never told her even once to cook because they have the luxury to have a help. She learnt it because she wanted to, not because dev told her.

Sonakshi always knew that for her to have a happy married life with Dev, she needed to be in the good books of Ishwari & she also knew that Ishwari had only accepted her because Dev was totally devasted when they broke up and that is the only reason Sonakshi went out of the way to be a good bahu to Ishwari at the cost of her self respect.

Sona wanted Dev to himself handle & sort out his things in the wardrobe for 2 reasons. One was to relieve that work load from Ishwari & second because she wanted him to be self reliant & stop running to his mother like a small kid for every small thing. But yes, once she saw that Dev couldn't even manage or didn't want to take the effort, she could have helped him in sorting it out until he was quite adept at handling it by himself. Being always self reliant, she assumed that he too would quickly learn to do the same.

There was nothing wrong in her expecting him to sort his clothes by himself especially since she too was sharing half of the wardrobe with him. No daughter-in- law would tolerate her mother-in-law ( & definitely not the servants/ household helps) invading her privacy & checking her private stuff. I can never forget how inquisitive & insecure Ishwari was, trying to check their wardrobe in order to find out what Dev had gifted to Sona ( her first present from him) post their marriage.👎🏼

If you watch this show liking only one character & judging/disliking the rest, it's something you can never enjoy. I have seen ppl victimise Dev & act like everyone in the show tortured him. I have seen ppl victimise Sonakshi & act like she was perfect & everyone around her tortured her. This show was never that. It was never one character v the rest. It was never absolute morality v evil. It wasn't about rooting for one hero/heroine while the other evil folks plan & plot till eternity. That's the beauty of Kuch Rang. With all its flaws, you could love Sonakshi, relate to Dev or at least understand where he is coming from (even if you think he is being a jerk) and even empathise with Ishwari at times (though she was really frustrating too). It was about normal humans messing up for most part (though the writing got messy at times). And that's why the show resonated with so many ppl.

So true!

That's one of the things why I love the show. They didn't try to force their idea of right and wrong on us. They presented all sides and it was upon the viewer to decide who or what they agreed with more. It asked us to think rigorously, read between the lines, and interpret things from our respective vantage points. Also, some admittedly problematic actions weren't romanticized (Dev ki Deewangi for example).

Exactly, there is such beauty in the humanness of all the characters. They all had their own reasons and everyone had good intentions, even Ishwari. We all seek to do good, but falter sometimes

I like the way you wrote about the show , do true the essence of it.

This was the beauty of the show

It was not about one character , it was about human nature . Every character were portrayed as real there was no pure evil!

Ishwary had more negative shades but she had good shades too ( esp beginning of the show)

Dev , Sona , Bijoy no one was perfect

All characters were relatable Dev & Sona both were beautiful characters basically good people but their relationship failed , they struggled mend their ways .

It was a beautiful show esp S1

We can’t completely blame any one !

Can’t blame one character completely
