Madhuri Dixit always suffer on screen when there is another actress. It proves she is not as powerful as Sridevi.

Beta : This film Madhuri Dixit was the lead heroine but the supporting actress Aruna Irani was the highlight of the film with Anil Kapoor.

Hum Apke Hai Koun : The actress Renuka who played Madhuri's sister and Reema Lagoo the mother overpowered Madhuri in the film.

Khalnayak : In this film Madhuri Dixit suffered in the song Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai by another actress Neena Gupta. The film Madhuri Dixit is only remembered for the item number. Nobody really remember her performance in the film. It was all about Sanjay Dutt.

Dil Toh Pagal Hai : Madhuri was the lead heroine but Karishma got everybody's attention and the limelight and also won national award.

Mrityudand: In this film Shabana Azmi was main actress. Madhuri again got sidelined.

Lajja: Madhuri was one of the lead but Mahima Chowdhury and Manisha Koirala took the main story ahead. Other stories were not very engaging including Madhuri's.

Pukar: Madhuri Dixit was the lead heroine but other actress Namrata Shirodkar was a revolution in the film.

Devdas: Madhuri Dixit was great in her limited role but if you just cut Kahe Ched and Mardaala song there is no role for her in the film. Aishwarya Rai was the main heroine and in Dola Re Dola song Aishwarya overshadowed Madhuri even in dancing.

Gulam Gang: Juhi Chawla overshadowed Madhuri in it.

The only film Madhuri Dixit overshadowed the lead HERO was Raja. Madhuri overshadowed Sanjay Kapoor in it but the film's main actor was Paresh Rawal, not Sanjay Kapoor.

None at all. Madhuri Dixit is the last female superstar who made films run on her own name alone and gave lots of hits on her own. People perhaps have no idea of kind of stardom Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit have commanded and sustained for several years and in different genres, languages. That too without any marketing or PR. These actresses used to overshadow even male superstars and reached a stage when they were paid more than even male actors, except Amitabh Bachchan. After them there has been no actress who made films run for weeks simply on her own name, appealed to classes, masses alike, succeeded in all genres and gave hits with all actors be it old or young or had people lining up in theatres just to see her one song, one glimpse.

Nor has any other actress been a complete package of looks, dancing skills, acting skills, innocence, talent, sex appeal the way these actresses were.

Today's actresses may succeed in a genre or two or with a certain co star in a jodi or are classified as girl next door or sexy siren or beauty queen but none has been complete package nor towered over male co stars, the way Madhuri and her predecessors did.

There is no actress after Madhuri whose name alone could sell tickets, ensure bumper opening for film in all centres and regions.

All actresses after MD have had their good time or few years or in certain genres or won some sexy/hot/beauty titles or were known more for their personal life than their professional accomplishments. MD is the last female actor to have given an ATBB in which heroine dominates the film. No other actress gave such ATBBs, big openings or iconic hits, or memorable performances in even flop films.

You forgot to mention Queen Kunika, she completely overshadowed Madhuri in Beta (1992). Kunika Mania was a force to be reckoned with in the mid 90s. She literally made Madz look like a supporting artiste next to her.Kunika - Age, Birthday, Movies & Facts | HowOld.co

And in DTPH (1997), it was all about Farida Jalal, the whole film revolves around her story when she takes the poor loser Pooja into her home. I heard Farida ji won several awards for it, and flop Madhuri was left crying backstage.

And let us please not forget Aasoo Bane Angaarey (1993) starring the legendarious Jaya Prada - who was so hot in those days that they couldn't even put her on the poster, ab batao?

Bud, I don't even like MD much as an actress, but she was bona fide super star. She legit earned the ratings, the hype, the statements, the media.

Madz doesn't have a replica .... no one does in that regard. If you wanna go with another actress who had... and still has men eating out of their palms just with the way they move, then I guess Kat comes close.

I wasn't around to witness the craze surrounding Madhuri, so I'm not sure how or why she was a superstar. When I watch Sridevi movies, I can see why cuz she always delivered powerful performances along with being a topnotch dancer. In any movie you watch of hers, she has your eyes glued to her more than anyone else.

But Madhuri's drawing card seems to be her dance numbers ... which makes sense cuz she is a brilliant dancer, she had the right "assets" I guess if I were to step in a guy's shoes, and had a bunch of raunchy songs that accentuated them. No brainer why she gave the male population a boner just from watching her. But her acting never stood out to me over other actresses of her time. Speaking strictly of impact, Madhuri's wasn't as well rounded as Sridevi's for me to accept her as a true "superstar."

Not sure how old you are, but I was around during the time. Her superstardom was 100% real.

She was very confident about Her stature as an Actress as well as a Megastar. She knew that She was Iconic . That's why She never tried to manipulate things nor people's minds and take away credits from all other actresses , like madhuri did through her pr and paid media to promote herself , cheap lady , shame on her 🤬

😆 Got to wonder if you're *trying* get Sri bashed. Because I too prefer Sri over Mads any day but am still tempted to retort with all the things that may be said about Sri in response to your post.

😆Reminds me of the Aish superfan who makes troll posts on her daily and gets peeps to defend her.
