Madhuri gave top grossing films of the year like Dil, HAHK, DTPH etc unlike Ash. And gave hits with different generation of actors be it Anil, Sunny, Sanjay or Khans, Akshaye Khanna.

Ash never had a voice, command over language, dialogue delivery, acting or dance skill like Madhuri. Nor ability to draw audience to theatres with just one song.

Madhuri won greatest actress of the millennium awards while Ash only wins beauty awards,and will be known only for beauty, nothing else.

Rani is still getting films like Mardaani, NOKJ and critical acclaim. Karishma atleast has ads. Unlike Ash who has no ads either and is even out of Kalyan jewellers ad, LoReal, Longines ads now.

Even with top male stars Ash could not give an ATBB. She never had any star power beyond PR and online hype.

Ash's hits are far fewer than Madhuri. She was always all hype and no substance. In serious films too Madhuri's one Mrityudand beats Ash's entire career.

Madhuri has more credibility and popularity among masses than Ash which is why Govt also chose her to endorse campaigns for HIV/AIDS awareness, Beti bachao beti padhao unlike Ash who has no public service campaigns from GOI to her credit except one ad for polio drops in which she joined Amitabh who was main ambassador for the campaign.

Madhuri is in various ads even today whereas Ash is out of Lux, Prestige, Kalyan, Nakshatra and LoReal ads which she once did.

Ask anyone in real life who the bigger star is. Madhuri is the last female supertar and complete star-actress with ability to draw audience on her own. No one else matched that fame after her. Deal with it.

Even in her so called Southern films Ash was never a superstar like Sridevi was. If Sridevi fans talk of Madhuri in comparison to regional cinema success it still makes sense. But Ash fans quoting her ikka dukka South films to call her bigger star than Madhuri is a joke.

Madhuri is a cultural phenomenon and box office draw that Ash never was and never will be. Nor does Ash get any TV shows or ads the way MD does.

I will puncture your logic with a few points

1. Yes Ash has more flops than hits, SO has Madhuri - so what exactly you trying to prove?
2. "Ash's hits are far fewer than Madhuri" - Yes, Ash's hits are fewer than Madhuri but also because Ash did far fewer movies than Madhuri (almost half of Madhuri's)
3. If Ash wanted, she could have easily attached herself with top actors to deliver ATBBs, but she chose not to. In fact, she rejected Hollywood opportunities with major HW stars, which Madhuri can only dream about

Sour grapes eh? You are the one who is biased. Stardom is on basis of box office and REAL LIFE popularity. Not on basis of beauty or so called reported offers one supposedly got.

Her PR and her fans can keep claiming she was offered X, Y, Z films but why did she not work in those eh? She has done nothing of note in Hollywood either.

Stardom is on basis of your box office and real life success and TRPs of your shows if you do TV. Stardom is on basis of your relevance, longevity, hits, iconic songs, films. Not on basis of looks or hype or one or 2 hits.

Aishwarya never matched box office record of Hema Malini, Madhuri, Sridevi, Nargis, Nutan, Asha Parekh, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone. Even Mala Sinha has more hits than her. Soon Alia Bhatt will also surpass Ash in terms of box office.

You can keep adding your 'could have' or 'should have' and give hypothetical situations how Ash might have had hits but her real life work shows how she hardly drew audience on her own and was never a force to reckon with at box office. This is why she was easily replaceable and films she was kicked out from, became hits anyway without her (Chalte Chalte, Veer Zaara).

It is this pseudo elitism which is main reason why Aishwarya will never match stature of Madhuri or Hema among masses. Amused you call it kaamwali if someone does ads for detergent. Aishwarya failed to give any ATBB even with Khans. HDDCS, Devdas are just hits. Not ATBBs. She failed to give ATBB with even Hrithik. Jodha Akbar and Dhoom 2 are hits, not ATBBs. Broke no all time records. So it is not Aishwarya who did not attach herself to ATBBs, it is just that she lacks power to draw audience and make films ATBBs.

Even Bhagyashree and Amisha Patel have ATBBs like MPK and Gadar in their filmography but Aishwarya does not. Nor has she given megahits like Sridevi in South cinema either.

Argue all about stardom as you want, in real life and cinema history it is Madhuri who is the bigger icon than Ash ever will be. Aishwarya would be forgotten if she was not Bachchan bahu. She is in news now only because she is DIL of the biggest megastar of South Asia.

First of all, I find mad stupidly overrated and overhyped. she is not at all that great as she portrays herself. her pr claims that she is complete actress 😂 lol what a joke. Neither is she good in comedy nor in action.

Secondly, why should anyone try and think of replicating mad's success. God has not made everyone same. Then why should actresses think of being like the other person . Everyone's life is different , so everyone's career graphs are different. mad is not any yardstick , which her pr falsely claims. All actors and actresses are successful in different ways. There are actresses who are more successful than her. They have a lot of such achievements which she doesn't have. That's It.

I don't like Madhuri, think is she is not as beautiful as her fans think, but she is the biggest bollywood female star of all time. And this isn't something I made up, it is FACT.

I am assuming Sridevi, Juhi, and Meenakshi aren't counted as answers. These actresses were in a league of their own. They were Madhuri's contemporaries, so comparing them to Madhuri's success post the era of her prime success would make no sense.

I would say Priyanka Chopra. Deepika Padukone or Alia Bhatt may follow suit.

The problem is - the 90s was the last batch that produced limited yet quality actors / actresses. Starting from the early 2000s, Bollywood started seeing an influx of fresh faces. A lot of movies had one-time wonders and overhyped sensations (Amisha Patel, Sonam Kapoor, Udita Goswami, etc.)

This makes it hard for us to pit anyone against Madhuri and her success in Bollywood. Priyanka has been consistent in terms of acting, dance, varied roles, etc. Deepika and Alia come to mind next.

Kareena, Bipasha, etc. were in a different league as well.

Before married Deepika but now I say no actress can match madhuri popularity. Madz and sridevi are a match and competition to each other. Katrina survived many years and got hits thanks to salman and Akshay and big banners directors.
