Samantha rejected film opposite SRK for family

Now, according to reports, the actress was approached to play the female lead for Shah Rukh Khan’s next with Atlee. But back then, the actress wanted to have kids with Naga Chaitanya and so said no to the project. The film then went to Nayanthara, who started shooting for the film recently.

Hope she is getting more opportunities now that she has started taking up films again.

Good on Samantha to reject such family who sets up rules for on,y women while men are Scott free.

At least she could say in her 50s that I had rejected the movie Nayan did.

That would have been very heroic in a time when srk was the biggest thing in the industry

Aamir and Salman barely give proper roles to their heroines so among the big stars SRK is definitely a big deal for actresses to work with.

Also it's still a big offer for someone who is married and around 35 years of age in a sexist and ageist industry like ours. It's a big deal for Nayan too. Glad she's doing it.

well good for her but given how srks last few films were recieved (even with strong female roles), I doubt it’s much of a step up ..,Katrina was 35+ during zero and tho she got appreciated for zero, the film did nothing to put her into a different league …

Nayan and Samantha are better off doing a Vijay (bigil guy) film or a big ticket commercial Telugu film if they wanted to make a splash commercially ….

@Bold: Because Zero flopped. I don't know what else she was supposed to get from it, since she was already a superstar by then and it was by no means some award winning performance for her to get anything more than "Oh, she gave not 1 but a whopping 4 expressions in this one. Bravo!"

SRK's last few films were received poorly because of the films themselves. I haven't liked a single film of his post Chak De, except may be the crowd-pleasing Chennai Express. But I'd like to believe his stardom is still intact. Not no.1 but def among the top 3.

Nayan seems to be doing the big ticket films opposite big heroes whereas Sam seems to be more interested in going down the Vidya/Kangana path with her lineup.

Good, SRK needs to work with his iconic heroines.
