No here Imlie is shown more as a selfless person. Her character has been established in that way. Right now Imlie is in zen mode. She is now giving unconditional support and love to Adi without have any expectations. She did that previously also when Adi is not in love with her. Now she is doing even more with conviction for the common love shared by them. If you ask me, does this happen in real life? I would say it is unlikely. But according to characterization still Imlie is inline with her character. Adi is almost inline with his character in the cas of reacting to trauma and being a one sided person. But what the makers are not able to justify is his lack of trust with Imlie’s words. He is not even to rest to ponder little bit on what she is saying. That is being deliberately done just to drag the drama and the show.

Apudip ji , exactly this is what I feel for 😒 , now I'm getting a feel of bengali version of Imlie character is better than Imlie character of Hindi version in this track. Thanks Apu for your response.🤗

I'm tagging few people , but others as well are welcome to put their thoughts about Imlie's breaking point in their relationship in long run.

Happy Camper ji - the question you raised is a very valid point - what is the breaking point for Imlie?

The answer is not Adi Imlie divine love and understanding causing no breaking point ever. It's a case of belief in SM. Story shows Imlie to be a super woman - who can bear overcome and forgive everything. She is simply above the normal human. She can put up with any amount of hurt and pain and extend empathy to the vilest of people. Can she really tho? She has legit had a few almost breaking points and has not stayed back for Adi.

Let's see Imlie's response pattern.

Point #1

Imlie knew from the start that Janmasthami was rape or Adi is lying and it was consensual as Malini says it was. Let's go with rape and give Adi the benefit of doubt - since he says he loves Imlie and cannot even think of this.

Adi under drugs and under influence thinks of Malini as Imlie - Adi has betrayed Imlie & Imlie ready to leave Adi

Adi under drugs and with Malini in Imlie's saree - Imlie forgives Adi and stays as he was duped by Malini because of saree.

So here the 'saree' is the breaking point. Just drugs was not ok - but the added deception of saree was enough for Imlie to give Adi the clean chit. It's not like their love stops her from leaving...it's SM showing her the saree in time.

Now that we have established that Imlie will leave Adi - just needs the right level of justification. Point #1 breakpoint averted with saree. I just cannot understand this - was she looking for an excuse not to leave here?

Point #2

Imlie finding the camera that confirms what SM had her believe all along. Now she has proof. And then Adi deleting proof of his innocence for his rape baby

Imlie was considering leaving. This is the lowest blow Adi has dealt her as it was intentional and indicates a basic distrust of Imlie when Malini is in the picture and a clear prioritization of a baby born out of non consensual behavior over Imlie and her life.

Again this was a breaking point for her until Adi tells her she can have the dubious authority of decision making regarding Malini and Imlie realizes SM still gave her proof for a reason regardless of brainless Adi. The fact that she knew the truth and her convictions were right - made her move past her breakpoint of Adi's distrust in her. And she was waiting to decide on next steps without making impulse decisions.

Point #2 - breakpoint till Imlie realizes she was given proof and conviction regarding Malini's deception by SM for a reason.

Point #3

Adi failing to keep his promise of picking her up at school - exposing her to a dangerous situation and Imlie comes home to find him tied up literally with Malini.

Imlie questions her place in Adi's life and this may have been a breaking point until Aparna asks her to think of how her relationship with baby would be and not what it is with Adi.

So point #3 - breaking point diverted because of sudden flow of affection for the baby as chotti maa and thinking that SM may have placed her there to protect Adi didi baby selflessly against chottu's own biological mom's lack of care in baby. Again not Adi motivated but SM motivated and for general good.

All in all - it's not her convictions or strength of Adilie love that has kept Imlie in T house.

It's either that she really wants Adi at any cost - even her self respect and will find any justification to stay in spite of Adi's constant and continued distrust of her and belief that Imlie lies blatantly to get her point across (Imlie does tell Adi that Malini herself has confessed her intent to Imlie many times and it is not a theory - so Adi disbelieving Imlie means he thinks Imlie is lying to convince Adi of Malini's intent - YUCK) or

her faith and devotion to SM that makes her want to give it her all regardless of any insult or injury to her - not Adi at all.

I think it is the latter - definitely not the love and understanding between Adilie. Imlie is staying in spite of her pain, the almost intolerable situation Adi has created by brining Malini to T house and refusing to see M's true colors, and the unceasing distrust Adi has in her; only to uphold SM's marzi in Adilie marriage and finds different ways to justify SM's wishes.

Let's hope SM upholds Imlie's trust unlike Adi and his tall claims. Breaking point for Imlie is therefore only if she realizes she has misunderstood SM's ishaara and that Adi was meant for Malini after all. (BTW this is why I l enjoy MaryBarton's fanfiction so much - she keeps the same SM first bakht Imlie - but one who takes the alternative of leaving Adi and keeps her self respect and marriage still intact.)

The question I grapple with is when SM allowed Malini to rape and get pregnant with Adi's child - why Imlie still thinks Adilie is SM's wishes? Is she thinking SM wants a threesome in T house? Is she even thinking about the chottu's (that SM allowed to create) future when it wants a mom and dad unit and not a flawed setup with 2 mom's who distrust eo and a dad who loves chottu's aunt but trusts chottu's mom? What kind of psychological damage this will have on chottu? Has she thought about the other times Malini may drug Adi again in T house to get her haq? Will Imlie forgive Adi each time he sleeps with Malini thinking it was Imlie, especially as he still does not believe Malini can do something like this intentionally...next time Malini will use Imlie's perfume or sandals etc to make Adi believe it was Imlie he is sleeping with - it's easy to fool Adi after all.

This shows runs because story's logic is flawed and inconsistent and viewers are all trying to find where the 'kicker' is and the memory of the first 150 episodes still keeps everyone hoping that there may be some sense to this after all eventually. Whereas makers are dragging the carrot of resolution along longer. If the CVs can pull all this together comprehensively - I'll eat my words happily.

I see what you are saying and get your point...only Adi is still not considering himself innocent right? SM has not protected him yet even in that regard? Even with the camera proof - he chooses to believe that Malini was also drugged and they together both made a mistake - while he thought it was Imlie. Only Imlie knows the truth and therefore SM has given her the relief of the truth. So SM has come through in limited fashion for Imlie. I really hope they also come clear that nothing happened that night. They have to WW Malini at some point and cannot have her rape Adi and then WW her. Till a proven Adi didi baby is established - I'm going to remain with belief that nothing happened - so I can somewhat continue watching for Sumeer :)
