Fitness is not about having a big built, lifting heavy weights, or going to the gym regularly. If you can do 50 pushups, 100 squats, and 20 pull-ups with proper form and also maintain body fat percentage 15-18 % for a female, 8-10% for a male. You are fit. This is broadly my definition of fitness. This can be achieved by doing cardiovascular exercises (running, jumping jacks, burpees, etc.), bodyweight training, and having good nutrition.
But now the question is why do we do Strength or resistance training. Why lift weights. There are several reasons which are discussed below. Resistance training benefits not our body but our overall mood, performance, and mind. There are certain benefits of weight training on overall lifestyle and health.
