As far as I know. The person who brings the murti, uski arti utarte hai. Arti also because he is holding Bappa and that's the way to welcome

1. During Kanyadaan, assuming the bridegroom to be Vishnu. The girls parents do it.

2. A student does it to Guru as a mark of respect on special ocassions.

Those are the two instances I have seen it.

Yes. That's the only 2 occasions I have seen it happening. Never in Ganpati sthapana. I really feel it was unnecessary to be added here.

I dont know why writers are forcing the same thing when there is no value addition to the story. It is getting repetitive. It is clear that Virat doesnt give a damn and Sai gives all the damn. Why showing same scenes again and again.

Instead they could just show Sai, silently doing chores for Bappa and Virat adoring her for her sincerity. They can show the tender moments between them, even though they are facing worst crisis now. It shows how much they care for each other's presence. They dont know what to repeat and what to cut down 😈
