This is not true. Christ and Christianity are 2 different entities. Gospels cover Christ's life, where women were treated equally. But there is plenty misogyny in the parts after. And those people are the ones who established organized Christianity.

Which verses from vedas did @chilli privide when she said girls are physical assets whose ownership is transfered from men to men and whose virginity is donated by parents during kanyadaan?😆

😆 Who stopped *you* from asking?

I ask for the citations I want to see. You ask for the ones you want to see. That's how it works in the real world.

Btw, I did ask for citations re: universal girls' education and women's' rights.

Secondly, I happen to know the quoted Bible verses are not from the gospels but the way it was presented without book numbers suggested someone trying to full a fast one, so I asked.

Thirdly, those 4 gospels are the only place in the Bible that *I* know of that misogyny is actively spoken against. Before and after, there is plenty misogyny, including physical abuse if I'm not mistaken.

Unlike you, I'm not claiming one religion is better than the other in that respect. Religion has been bad for women's' rights. No question about it. But supporters of patriarchy wants to make it religion vs. religion, so the argument gets derailed. Patriarchy once again prevails!

EDIT: You're actually calling @Chilli Abrahamic because she disagreed with you😆? And lecturing her on interpreting vedas? Buddy, you should stop before you embarrass yourself further.

I agree that a girl does not become 'foreign' after marriage and you can check any of my posts. I have claimed nothing of the sort.

Since when are women become cows?? Yes livestock is considered wealth but it doesn’t and shouldn’t include humans. If men are not considered wealth why are you okay and arguing for women to be considered livestocks?? We are not animals, we are human and it’s high time we women start seeing and believing ourselves as living breathing beings. It’s absolutely atrocious to see not only men but women defending such beliefs, religion or tradition they deserve to be trashed not cherished.

I was bang on with my assesment on why abrahmics read our vedas and you have proven me right.

You had no questiins for so much bullsh**t chilli wrote but came down defending heavily on only one post made on bible by heisenberg.

Very devout christian, i must say!😆

You're still not asking 😆.

And trying to make it about a member rather than about the topic. 😆

And accusing members who disagree of being X, Y, or Z.😆

Sad to say, I've been around too much not to recognize derailing tactics.

Name me one religion in the world which has not been misogynistic. You can't. Not yours, not your neighbor's, not anyone else's.

But supporters of patriarchy want to make it a religion discussion so they won't have to actually answer.

Where did I mention that women are cows? Kindly prove where have I equated women with cows. I fave an example that EARLIER WEALTH WAS NOT CONFINED TO NON LIVING THINGS ONLY. FOR EXAMPLE, COWS WERE CONSIDERED WEALTH AND THEY WERE LIVING. HOPE THE LARGER FONT HELPS YOU TO READ BETTER. NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT YOUR POOR UNDERSTANDING OR YOUR CHOICE TO PURPOSEFULLY MISUNDERSTAND AND ATTACK.

Your atrocity to believe that I am comparing any human (regardless of gender) with livestock is remarkable & amazing and I applaud it.👏

A heartfelt thank you to you, Cherry Me. People can write pages here about feminism but not understand the meaning of freedom of speech or cyber bullying.

In every post, I have been respectful about expressing my views , expressed support against social evils like dowry, gender inequality but I am being labelled as a supporter of patriarchy by members who don't even bother to read the entire text and are being encouraged by experienced members who are 'hearting' these lies against me. I don't care if people report me now for any post but I am done not calling out nonsense against me.

This thread had really exposed to me that if you don't support the majority view, no matter how mindfully you put your POV across, people will assume anything about you & label you anything.

I am a human too which is obvious. A girl too which is not clear from my user name. So, all those members talking about humanity, human rights and feminism; please keep that in mind while quoting me.

But sadly, those 4 gospels, covering the 3 active years of Christ's life, are the only place in the Bible which has no misogyny.

Misogyny restarts in the books after his death

I see, another changing of the goalpost, so we went from "women are not regarded as property in Islam and Christianity", to "you did not quote from the Bible", to "these quotes are not from the gospels". 😆 Those quotes are from the Old Testament, which is part of the Christian Bible, and as far as I remember, Jesus never denounced/criticised/dismissed the Old Testament, in fact he completely supported it, which is even mentioned in the gospels,, after all, he was a Jew, and died as a Jew.

1st. If the discussion (I didn’t read beyond that comment) is getting dumber and dumber, I’m sure you have something to do with it. This one comment of yours tells me you’re to be blamed for all the dumbness going on this thread. So I suggest you stop being a dumb ass and start saying saying something that impresses your stupid A$$.

2nd: I have no agenda, I read a comment and responded to it. Unlike you I don’t sit around having agendas about religion, politics and useless things in general. I believe you have an agenda hence you believe everyone has one.

I don’t care if cow is your brother, what I care about is you don’t compare it to women. You can fill this whole thread with how cows are your family, friends, masters, and even religion itself. I don’t give a damn but when you imply that cows are wealth and so is women I will quote and comment.

Women are often better enforcers of patriarchy than men themselves. In a joint family, the one who upholds patriarchy the most is the mother-in-law. There is finally someone in the family that has less power than she does so all the worst instincts will come out. It's also a way to suck up to the patriarchy to benefit from it.

It's the desi version of those Western pick me girls who will brag about only having male friends and how girls are so much drama, etc.

Quote

Sun is considered to be a star. Alpha Centauri is considered to a star. That does not mean that the Sun is equal to Alpha Centauri. One is considered to be a number. Two is considered to be a number. That does not mean one is equal to two. Cows were considered wealth. Daughters were considered wealth. That does not mean cows were equal to women.

You have a problem with daughters (or women or humans) being considered as wealth. That's fine. It's your choice and view. But no one here is comparing daughters (or women) to cows.
