I would say please read or try searching Ponniyin Selvan and also watch Thalapathy (tamizh movie) before commenting this.

My grandparents were a ardent followers, it was weekly edition then later got into the book form.

I grew up reading Ponniyin Selvan, we still got the books, my nephew who's 7 now is an ardent fan of PS. Most of the Tamizh people consider this movie a tribute to Kalki who's a great writer and also a independence activist.

I would highly recommend you read Ponniyin Selvan!!

After delivering flops Jazbaa, Sarabjit, and Fanney Khan, she is finally doing the acting she's good at: dressing up in heavy costumes, wearing heavy makeup, donning heavy jewelry and looing at the camera with a blank wooden expression. She is good in period movies because she doesn't have to act.

Her staring at the camera with no expression is considered the epitome of acting by her fans.

Fortunately, we will be spared the torture of her shouting, screeching, overacting. Her flaring nostrils in every scene will not be missed.
