I think any typical husband of any culture would say this to his wife at least once in a lifetime 😂🤧 and they will never get it how ever hardly you try to make them understand, because their mind never work that way , as simple as that!

Put on your mind another important fact!

Aditya knows M for 7 years, he know how weakly emotional she is, how she snap in anger when confirmation and totally loose it! Who did try to suicide 2 times ( as per his knowledge )

So all of this will make him hesitate to deal with her in a direct way! ( what if I said something and she try to kill her self again?! ) it must be this idea roaming in his mind every single day!

So he will never be actively responded until he had the fear of loosing imlie, or somehow he get to know about her dirty plans with her mum and that I don't think will ever happen 🤗

We are aware of his tendency to ignore everything around him other than Imlie as long as status quo is maintained. I agree with you that for Adi, his relationship with Malini now has gone so token based that he does not even feel the need to correct her presumptions directly. People got mad that he did call Malini out for saying Imlie is a thief - I feel that for him that did not even register. He rather interpreted it as Imlie not having fancy jewellery to wear during functions and took it on himself to resolve that situation instead, again showing his one track mind regarding Imlie and her needs. That also is the reason why he has a blind spot about Malini - he would rather ignore her doings and focus on what good she did in the past till the divorce, rather than confront her and face her reverse accusations like the day of the party. Also somewhere Adi still has the guilt of being the reason for Malini being in this situation, so that makes his ostrich behaviour his way of letting her do what she wants. His concept is clear - as long as he and Imlie are together, he honestly is not bothered what others do or think. The guy has blinders on, and like you said, the day the things get out of hand and Imlie leaves him - that will be the day he will finally see his "gehri dost" for what she truly is.

Agree to a large extent. I can only add that another big factor at play here is that Malini is Imlie's sister. When Imlie had broken down after the DC truth reveal, she'd mentioned to Adi, "yeh rishta nahi, bandhan hai". I think somewhere or the other, this utterance has stuck with Adi on multiple levels.

For him, Malini is now his ex/second wife and gehri dost 🤢 later, his wife's sister first. This is very clear from the way he misses no opportunity to refer to Imlie as Malini's 'choti behen' whenever he's around Malini. He knows very well how emotionally attached Imlie is to Malini, and even if her love isn't reciprocated (very evident it isn't ), Imlie will never be willing to completely break ties with Malini on her own, no matter how shaky that ground is. I feel a big reason why Adi's burying his head in the sand is because he's aware of just how wrecked Imlie will be if the complete truth is out in the open among the three of them and there's no going back to blissful ignorance. That includes the fact that Malini actually wants Adi back, she's put the divorce on hold without even informing Adi about it, and she can go to any despicable level to achieve her goal.

One part is avoiding what he feels are unnecessary complications with a confrontation, the other is probably avoiding putting Imlie in a painful spot where she'll have to let go of this one-sided relationship she's built with Malini in her mind. We have to remember here that Imlie has always strived to keep her relationship with Malini independent of Adi, even back when Adi and Malini were getting married. Somewhere, she's been expecting the same attachment from Malini even after all the truth is out. This belief that she has that Malini can do no wrong is already flailing, and will collapse with the confrontation. For Adi, disconnecting from most people and situations is easy and something he's done all his life. He can do the same with Malini, if it comes to that. For Imlie, it isn't. I don't think the question of choosing between Adi and Malini comes into the picture since Imlie's already seen some of Malini's petty games this week and she's made it clear she isn't about to give Adi up, didi jaap or no. So only the dynamics of Imlie and Malini's relationship will be most impacted and he probably wants to avoid that.

As you've all mentioned, it is only if Imlie or his relationship with her is jeopardized in any way that he will let go of all of these inhibitions that he has. At that point, the fact that Malini is Imlie's sister will not matter to him and he will take every precaution to protect Imlie until, in the very least, he judges that Malini has somewhat come back to her senses.

Very well explained your point and I fully agree on it... It actually is a very major part in Adi's behavior.. Sister bond is very important for Imlie and she is holding tight on it..

@bold: Very good point....yes indeed, Adi has been detached from most people all his life....the only person he isn't able to detach from is Imlie😆....she is his exception to everything.

Imlie herself finds detachment difficult, agreed....and that is why she is struggling more with the baggage of Malini being her half-sister even as she is being mistreated by Malini and her love is not being reciprocated.

Imlie has to understand at some point that her selfless love is only going to be reciprocated by the people who actually have a conscience and don't look down on her......Adi was mistreating her at one point but he never looked down on her - that is the reason his heart eventually melted in the face of Imlie's selfless love. Malini doesn't fall in that category....she has no value or regard for Imlie's selfless love and is a nasty person at her core.

The new promo also is in line with what you are saying.....for Imlie, it's not about choosing between Adi and Malini anymore, she's standing her ground as Adi's wife.....it is Didi who will have to back down from Imlie's resolve this time as far as I can see....Malini has openly demanded Adi back from Imlie and Imlie's like nope, ab main dikhaaungi Imlie Aditya Kumar Tripathi kaun hai😆.

@bold: +100. The biggest boost to Imlie's self-confidence has come from the fact that Adi has very fiercely and publicly fought everyone to give her her rights. There's been no situation where he's minced words or backed down from proudly referring to her as his wife, and as much as we all laugh over his enthusiasm 😆, what he did was necessary because it has fed into Imlie's self-esteem and made her own the part of her identity that comes from Adi. She's slowly but surely assuming her role as his wife despite the fact that his family hasn't entirely accepted her. It is Adi's constant reassurances and her mother, SK & Rupi's support that have helped her stand tall before the people she loves (Aparna, for instance) - not disrespecting them, per se, but creating & respecting her own place.

If the promo plays out the way it's been shown, I'm confident that this is going to be her exact outlook towards Malini as well. Imlie will never agree to play these covert petty games with Malini, so she'll only counter her plans the best she can, and rely on Adi's complete trust in her to carry her through the rest. That, in itself, will be her biggest victory.

I feel Malini and by extension, some in the audience have also misread Imlie's many sacrifices as her weakness.....the fact that Imlie for so long has been deferential in front of Malini, given her the regard of an older sister, felt guilty that Malini may be hurt by the truth, felt sad about Malini being left alone....this has made many presume that Imlie is some kind of doormat to walk over. Her goodness has been considered her weakness.

It's important to remember that the Imlie who was willing to walk away from Adi, who was unwilling to move forward in her relationship with him until Didi ka ghar bass jaaye😆, that Imlie was operating under the presumption that Didi wishes her well and is hiding her pain. But now Imlie is witnessing a Malini who is actively plotting against her in such a nasty manner.....Imlie ka dil badaa hai but itna bhi badaa nahin ki koi use saamne se dhoka de aur phir bhi woh bole ki haan behen, mera sab tera😆.

So that is the Imlie I think we are going to see now.....who will refuse to roll over for a Malini who wants to take Adi by FORCE. Imlie ka funda is ki pyar se maangoge toh jaan bhi de dungi....but GALAT tareeke se maangoge toh phir Powerful Imaliya mode mein jawaab milega😆.

Also Adi se puchne ke jarorat nahi as he is crystal clear about his wife.. Kyali pulao kitne log bana sakte hai and I don't think he is person to worry about what delusion other have.. And Imlie is also fighting for this relationship as she is now sure of Adi's love for her..
