I have a slightly different opinion today.
Bondita's outburst was majorly on the fact that her Sakha Babu is no more.
This is not something I am saying lightly. I have reached this conclusion after a lot of deliberation.
Since the very beginning, Anirudh has been Bondita's moral compass and the ideal guide. She has measured everyone and everything in her life with him as the ideal counterpart.
To see that very man, refuse to stand for the right and keep silent has affected her more than she realises. In a way his Silence is not just the product of Enmity or manifestation of their altered circumstances but is a betrayal of the ethics that she had worshipped all her life. In a way, Anirudh who was her God has done something completely un-God like.
Bondita is not yet in the position to understand the full scale dynamics of this 8 years Enmity. She has yet to realise the turbulent waters. All she sees is a binocular vision - her Sakha Babu who always fought for the truth and the right; who went against all to save the women from the Kotha, who smacked down people with his words when they tried to stop her from educating herself, that very person stood by the side of lies and untruth in front of her eyes.
Anirudh has matured while Bon is in the phase where things are either white or black. Sahi ya Galat as she declared today. Just like Ani of the past, she is floundering without the support of any one behind her to help her emit her views. Just like Ani in the past who had stumbled, fallen, made innumerable mistakes and suffered in the journey of supporting the right, Bon stands in the same mercurial waters with no guide by her side. Ani was alone then, Bon is alone now.
Through her eyes, Anirudh has gone against his very Ethics by choosing to make her run away rather than fighting it out. This is the biggest betrayal in her eyes. His Silence comes next, because she repeatedly says that she cannot support the wrong even for him. Asking her to run away was wrong and this has in a way made her realize that her Sakha Babu was dead.
Her outburst, anger, and frothing demeanor spoke of anguish and pain at the final nail in the coffin - her Sakha Babu was truly no more. All these while, apart from her romantic love which has its origins in her limitless devotion to Ani, it was her trust on her God that motivated her, urged her to accept his decisions blindly. She agreed for annulment, went far away from her mother, never contacted her Sakha Babu....all these were his primary decisions and conditions that she followed.
With the death of her Sakha Babu....the man whom she worshipped and loved; her patience, her love and her self...all of them has crumbled. Anirudh's silence and his choice of making her run from the ritual has in a way backfired. Instead of helping Bon, it had tarnished the ideal image of her Sakha Babu whom she had placed on a pedestal. Her Sakha Babu is in ruins and she cannot reconcile with that. Which is why she bursts out like this.
I am glad this has happened. This Sakha Babu connection needed to go. Till it was there, the relationship would have always been unequal. Bon would have always worshipped Ani and Ani would think it his right to take decisions for her betterment without bothering to inform her. With this relationship burning into cinders, Bondita will see Anirudh as a man; beautiful and flawed but human. The God complex will disappear and Bon will connect with the man who can make mistakes and suffer too... someone who does take wrong decisions and may stay silent too.
This is the man, a complex silent, kind and intense soul with flawed choices whom Bon will genuinely love.
Also Ani needed this bond to break too. This Sakha thing had shoved many issues under the carpet. He takes decisions for her with a right that he refuses to name. He needs to be called out on it. In fact him losing the pedestal will do him a lot of good as finally Bon in her true sense will grow to be his partner. Otherwise he would have always been God to her, never her lover and her equal half.
This tiny break from her side is also necessary to make him realise how much he depends on Bon's affections for him. His spirit is fuelled by Bon's undying affection and unconditional love for him. The slightest withdraw from ber side will actually bring out all his issues and complexities that he had suppressed under his facade. It was necessary for him to want Bondita and finally he will. Not for the betterment, not for his family and not for Bon either; it is time for him to want her for himself. The way a man wants a woman.
And this equation would have been possible only after their status was equalised. With Bon's Sakha Babu proclaimed dead, he is left with only two identities - as Anirudh Roy Choudhury who guided her, mentored her and saved her and finally as an ex-husband, Chode hue Pati Babu.
Bon's frustration at the death of her Sakha Babu will lash at Anirudh Roy Choudhury whom she has already rejected by calling him out on his decisions that she blindly followed. So that leaves only one path back to her which can give him equal right - as her Pati Babu....her lover, her other half and her husband.
Which is why, Anirudh is finally going to fall face first into the intimate jaws of full and final love. He was already there in his feelings but now they will start to manifest and it is this craving that will form the relationship of a husband and wife between them in true sense.
