Now he doesn't care for the truth and what Purvi did, because his actions resulted in her death. He hurt her so much that she left the house and died as a result. That is eating away at him. If she had just left him, he would have been upset but not as broken as he is now.

When he sees her the first time, he'll probably feel relief first of all. Then when she doesn't recognise him, he'll break all over again but at least he'll be happy to know she's alive.
