Malini is always ready to believe anything that suits her purpose and allows her to remain in her dream world. Being from the world she came from, which was a mashup of toxic parents who coddled her and indulged her every whim, made her extremely clingy to anything that shows some semblance to her dream life of being married to someone who is exactly like her and would never fight with her the way her parents did.
Funnily when she met Adi & liked him (I will not use love as I still do not believe she truly loves him even today), she changed herself so much to suit his habits, that she became like a mirror to his tastes and likings. Which is why they used to have the same choices for clothes and shoes - because she had trained herself to match everything of his, so that they would become that cookie cutter, Stepford type, perfect couple that looks good together, always happy and never disagrees with each other. Her obsession to not follow her parent's path made her choose someone who she could manipulate & mold to suit that picture perfect life she always imagined.
That is also a reason why Adi was able to get along with her for 7 years. She never challenged him in anyway or made him think beyond the box he had made for himself, so he never felt the need to look outside his comfort zone. She became a part of that box happily, as that allowed her to be with him and call him her boyfriend. Added benefit was him standing up to her mother which she could never do, so according to her Adi was the perfect life partner for her.
But then he realized that destiny has given him a chance to live his life with someone who can make him a better version of himself. He understood that while all this while he was admiring a fake bouquet and keeping it close, Sita Maiyya gave him an opportunity to experience the beauty of real wild flowers that can fill his life with their scent. Hence no matter what Malini said or did, Adi kept moving towards Imlie, finally realizing that he loved her.
This is what has really shaken Malini - from when she realized that he was distancing himself from her till today when she knows the whole truth. The fact that Adi left her while she still wanted him is what bothers her. The person for whom she had apparently "changed" her habits is not willing to value her "sacrifice". The person jiske saath usne itne perfect wale dream dekhe the, has always only thought of Malini as a friend. That is what is bugging her - how dare he dismiss all these "efforts" she has made to become the version of a life partner had Adi always wanted. She refuses to entertain the thought that what they shared was not love - it was just habit. They had gotten habituated with each other and had converted that into marriage. The fact that there was no love from either end is something that will take Malni a long time to concede, even if she ever does.

Brilliantly said👏🏼. PPP is a good case study for a psychology student. She’s emotionally immature…..makes you go at her behavior. like when she got upset editorji didn’t eat her cake but enjoyed Imli’s moti roti.🙄
Live enough in her delusional world and any man will start to feel suffocated and keep his distance. No wonder he ran off to PD. Imli made him feel alive.
She is so much older than Imli (how old is she anyways, late 20s maybe even early 30s). She better stay single till she gets professional help. Imagine the terror of her becoming a mother with her mental make up.
