When we lived in ndia, our house was across from a temple. I do remember that during Gauri beat times, there were married women who'd do Pooja for gay and then circle some thread around tree. But don't know what that was. I was very young and didn't really care to know what it was. Just remember seeing things from my balcony.

My mom or married women in my family never celebrated any of that. And neither did my neighbors, but I did see women coming from outside of neighborhood coming to do some Pooja around this time.

I’ve seen that ritual too in shows, I’m not sure those shows were Gujarati. 😆
