Thanks for making poll, if at all makers are toying this idea. Our responses can hopefully deter them.

They had made Raavi talking to Dhara about giving her child to her , when she was trying to convince Dhara for her & Dev’s shaadi.

So now Dil mein darr hai,

PS creatives have lately caught up on bhabhima =devima bug. And can Torture with such ridiculous ideas.

Infact, they have scope to carry on this track in a very sensitive & practical manner.

Let’s see

Haha, thanks for the clarification! And that is true. Hope the PS spy sees this post and knows not to go through the surrogacy.

I have zero confidence they would do justice to the track, especially with the amount of unwanted comedy/filler scenes they've been sprinkling in.

That being said, interestingly enough, while I was in the hospital in the past month, I was able to scrub into a case where I saw a C-section of a first time mother (who went through IVF). She was 36 years old and she mentioned wanting another child, through IVF, 2 years later as she had a few more frozen eggs. Most first-time mothers, at least in the state I live in, were about 29-34 years old (which is just about the age range Dhara will be), and despite their reasons, they waited to have a child because it was their choice.

Assuming Pandya Store will take a progressive route (which I think is unlikely considering their track record and with how they've made Dev, Shiva, and Krish highly dependent on Dhara), I would love to see a track of Gaumbi and Dhara going to the hospital to speak to an OB/GYN doctor on their own accord. Although Raavi, Shiva, Dev, Krish, and Suman might be excited to meet and see the next generation, I don't want any of them being the ones to pressure/prod Dhara and Gaumbi into going to see the doctor. Dhara and Gaumbi are adults... I want to see them relying on each other, giving each other strength, and telling each other that it is okay if it doesn't work out in the end.

In the OG, there was a small scene of Mulla's period pains with Kathir taking care of her. CVs could honestly adapt the scene right now by showing Raavi's period pains. Shiva could take her to the hospital along with Dhara, and they could meet an OB/GYN who tells Raavi that certain medications could cause increased bleeding. After Raavi and Shiva leave the scene, Dhara could stay back and inquire more about medications (i.e., long-term birth control) and pregnancy. She could then bring Gaumbi back to the hospital to learn more about IVF, and if IVF is a failure, they could consider adoption (PS could even show the struggles of adopting older children as most people tend to want to adopt infants).

The adoption track could also be tied back to Rishita with Rishita wondering why the family was not willing to take in her family, but they were quick to take in a stranger child into the house. It could really open the doors for the show to explain what family is.

That's beautiful, Avi! I agree, outside of accidental teen pregnancies, many first time mother's here are in late twenties to early thirties. I myself am in late twenties and don't think will have any kids in future. And I am not rushing to be married as I am open to adopting kids if nothing works out.

I would love period pains track for Raavi and for it to play out like you've described. But that's like expecting too much from PS.

A little part of me hopes this dumb article was a way for the CVs to gauge audience interest 😆 I can totally seem them sitting in front of their computer thinking:

CVs: What if Raavi is the surrogate?!?!?! Let me "leak" this to figure out audience reaction...

Audience: 🤬!!😡!!

CVs: I guess not...

I do too, Avi!

And I also learned through EDT and here that surrogacy is illegal if you haven't given a birth before as it should be.

And if that's the case, PS makers should keep that in mind. It's foolish of them to actually think of this if they did. It's one thing to sneak in alcohol and another for them to go through with this where whole community including doctors, are blatantly commiting a crime.

Lovely post! I would prefer adoption or IVF if GauRa really want to have a child.

if they are fine and happy with not having one then I certainly wouldn't want them to bend down to pressure of "log kya kahenge" and the society!

I hope they don't take the surrogacy route.. that is a very sensitive track and i"m almost sure ITV would make a disaster of it

thank you for opening such a sensitive topic. We had numerous discussions about the sensitivity related to pregnancy, conception, childbirth and the atrocities women have to face in society because of this pattern. There are numerous women who struggle with pregnancy, have been named called for not bearing a child, or called selfish if they are child free by choice. No matter what the situation is, surrogacy, IVF, adoption – these are extremely sensitive issues, and I am not very sure whether the writers have the capability to handle it with care. If you ask me, ideally, I would like to see an adoption story. I also wanted to share with you a very beautiful podcast series, where these youngsters have started a channel calling out the age old superstitious beliefs.

That video is so true! Great that people are putting this kind of content out there.

It also reminded me of one of the popular quotes that is always misquoted and misconstrued. And people uses this a lot more when they try to convince people to not adopt.

"Blood is thicker than the water"

In reality, the actual quote is "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb"

And it means exactly the opposite of what people think this misquote means. Bond of soldiers on the battlefield (where there was bloodshed) is more stronger than any biological /genetical bonds (water from your mom's womb). In today's world, it can be applied that the bond with people whom you choose to be with (whether it's through friendships or adoption) is stronger than people you're with just because you're related to them.
