What are some BW movies that you find too preachy for your liking?

Swades and PK (OMG made on the same subject is a lot less preachy and bearable) from the mainstream BW.

I remember watching a few Salman movies where he randomly announces a "good message" like about women empowerment or respecting parents. The message usually has nothing to do with the story and is so cringey 😆

Not according to my parents. According to them, it is a documentary.

I am not really into emotional dramas but the movie is a kind of tear jerker 😭

I was snapped back into reality from seeing the expressions on my parent's faces 😆

Most Akshay movies, and those patriotic movies.

Was it preachy or simply melodrama dialed 100? Movies like Baghban, K3G, and HSSH are basically Indian serials turned into movies.

Bhagban is too one sided . I mean the father does tik tik on his typing machine sitting right in the middle of the house in the middle of the night but no one is supposed to say anything to him. The mom goes and talks behind her bahu to the son how bahu is not keeping an eye on their daughter, and the son is supposed to just listen to her and yell at his wife? Why can’t the parents be taught to mind their own business? Why is there no such movie?

Growing up I have seen how my grand mom used to mind her own business and if possible always helping my mom, dad and us. We all, including my mom, absolutely used to dote on her. Why can’t they make movies which teach survival tactics to the parents instead of demonizing the children?

Baghban. I found the movie over the top. The kids in the movies were assholes. But it's exaggerated and rare.

In the real world, many people face challenges looking after their elderly parents. Some people are already spread thin between their jobs and kids. Sometimes if the parents have dementia or other high needs conditions, it's safer to put them in a reputable home than risk them being alone all day. Elderly folks have fallen and broken bones, burnt themselves, or wandered off when they are alone.

Also, expecting other human beings to care for you is absurd. Children are not meant to be security investments for the future. You have kids because you want a family, not because you want someone to take care of you in old age. There can be so many things that can go wrong rendering your kids unable to care for you - they could be minimum wage employees working multiple jobs, they may live in tiny studio apartments because that's all they can afford, they could die or have a debilitating accident or get a disease like Cancer, MS, or ALS, they could have mental health issues or substance abuse issues, they could have special needs kids who take up a lot of time and attention, they could have jobs that keep them on the road, they could end up living in a country with many entry barriers.

Every human being should plan and make arrangements for their own care when they are old to the best of their ability. Instead of relying only on children build a community of family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, who help each other. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it actually takes a village for humans to get through life. Cultivate a network so no one feels burdened and everyone can help you a little bit when you're in need.

The whole preachy guilt-tripping of children being indebted to parents is bullshit and irrational.

Isn't Baghban a copy of HW movie?

(I am not countering your post, rather I agree with the content, this is just an additional questions, carrying on with your post)
