Iron Man 2 had black widow being introduced

Captain America 3 was a full on avengers lite movie

Thor Ragnarok had Hulk in equal parts and introduced Valkyrie

Wasp shared the accolades in Ant Man 2 (also the name was added in the movie title)

Ms. Marvel will have her standalone series, so they are not going to waste time with her origin in The Marvels.

So this just seems like another movie by MCU to expand the second movie and kickstart their Phase 4 with a bang, post Black Widow.

Brie is going to run the show in the Marvels - that much is clear

Regarding the sexist fanboys - ignore those trolls. They are idiots and would find things to complain and criticise even if this move fits their sexist agenda

The difference in your examples is that none of the superheroes had their name removed from the title.

Iron Man 2 was still an Iron Man movie despite Black Widow and War Machine being in it.

Civil War was still a part Captain America's trilogy despite having all the Avengers in it.

Same with Thor: Ragnarok being part of Thor trilogy despite it also having Hulk and Valkyrie.

Here they removed Captain Marvel's name from the title, and I think this is done to please the sexist fanboys who were going to hate this movie even before release.

As much as I enjoyed Captain Marvel its one of the better origin movies by MCU, the gaslighting plot, the skrulls twist, the madcap effects, young Fury😆 & Carol's sassy character but Larson's frozen turkey expressions just prevents to take everything a notch higher, she lacks the aura & likability factor big time for such roles (one of the biggest MCU miscast IMO) so yeah I am kinda glad they are going with "the Marvels concept" instead, Kamala girl looks like a really spot on casting, really looking fwd to blue Marvel inclusion.

And guess this massive snub to Captain Marvel & Brie Larson by the makers not to mention the Royal ignorance she received in Endgame lol well all this just further clears the air that Marvel is indeed passing back the mantle of MCU from RDJ's Tony Stark to Tom Holland's Peter Parker and rightly so (Spider-Man being their most iconic character of all time anyway😎) which is evident from the way 4th phase promo is cut as well, contrary to the much panned previous claims made by Feige regarding the Carol Denvers takeover. Bring it on😎

Spider-Man is NEVER EVER going to be the face of MCU because of Sony owning the character. He isn't even mentioned in the movies in which he doesn't appear because of copyright issues.

Even in the crossover team-up movies like the Avengers, he ain't going to be the central character. Marvel is gonna use him like Hulk there. But he can form his own mini-universe inside the MCU. There are strong rumors of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield being in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So there are chances of a spider-verse.

Kevin Feige doesn't like considering those works canon which he hasn't created, but Sony being in the picture here, it's very much possible.

Marvel had an easy choice with Black Panther being the face of MCU because of how much his solo movie earned at the box office, but after Chadwick Boseman's passing, Doctor Strange is the most likely choice or maybe Thor if Hemsworth stays around.

Then give solo movies to Kamala and Monica. It's unfair to them as well that they are being tied together in a team-up movie which is supposed to be a sequel of a Carol Danvers movie.

I just realized that Carol never got the title of Captain Marvel in her solo movie either, so she never played the titular character in any movie.

They had planned Kamala appearing in Capt marvel sequel before the first movie released itself. It was mentioned by both Brie and Fiege

I get your point of the title change, but team up movies are the logical step for sequels to increase the canvas size. Plus Kamala fits in perfectly since one of the main points of her story is that she looks up to Danvers even before she becomes captain marvel.

Plus they would have made their debut in tv shows. More than sufficient for a team up movie

Lets see, never say never though as there are rumours that one of the conditions om which Sony yielded & allowed to continue with Spidey in MCU is that the baton should be passed onto him, multiverse may happen (with cameos by the previous Spideys prolly) Sony & MCU are actively laying the foundation for Sinister 6 which is again centered around Spider-man, the last Sony-Marvel fallout seemed so staged and more like a ploy for public to invest further in Tom Holland & Spider-man emotionally since the responsibility to be the follow up movie after Endgame was huge, not to mention he has been getting some of most iconic & emotionally charged up show-stealing scenes in all his crossover movies.

As for Black Panther being the missed out easy choice, I don't agree earning shitloads of money at BO doesn't guarantee ground-level popularity, pop-culture references wise. Same for Dr. Strange but he'd be vital for multiverse & crossover connects, as much as it should be Hemsworth being the original Avenger if he sticks around, Thor is too dumb as a character IMO.

Captain Marvel still made 1 billion dollars at the box office. There is no reason for Marvel to drop Captain Marvel or even side-line Brie Larson. If faux outrage by conservative White men over the internet affected anything than songs like WAP wouldn’t be a super-hit in America.

It made a billion cuz of the endgame hype. Everyone knows that. Honestly, it wasn't such a great movie and the Captain Marvel comes off as a snobbish bland character. Hope they give her a personality in the next movie.
