Carol's interesting (albeit still not all that likeable) when she's a cocky belligerent self destructive alcoholic with Daddy issues. Alas, none of that characterization except for cocky made it into the movie.

She also gets more interesting from relationships - like the ones with Tony, Steve, Rhodey and Jessica. The first 2 can't happen and any relationship with Rhodey will be different and Jessica isn't around yet.

She's lost Maria. Fury is her only remaining big connection. So they needed to bring in people for her to interact and bond with and Monica (all grown up and powerful) and Kamala make a lot of sense.

The biggest issue that might arise with Spider-man is the Sony contract, otherwise its a no brainer that he'll be the Face of MCU, considering the unparalleled popularity the superhero enjoys, the kind of connect people have with Peter Parker's character & the fact that Tom Holland is immensely likable, charismatic not to mention young enough to carry the MCU legacy for a long time, but I agree about Dr. Strange being the catalyst & biggest connecting point for crossover movies especially if MCU is planning a fullfledged Multiverse, but otherwise naah I dont feel he'd be the face of MCU like Tony Stark, the Stephen Strange character aint that well fleshed out or popular enough but u never know, if Hemsworth sticks around for long then it could be Thor, but for now the way Feige, Russo's, Favreau project & hype him or fight for him lol its gonna be Tom H's Spidey
