Marvel Studios has officially titled the sequel of "Captan Marvel" as "The Marvels".

Unless this is a misleading title, the makers have made this loud and clear, that this movie is not gonna be a solo Carol Danvers movie, but a team-up movie like Guardians of the Galaxy, with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan having pivotal roles in it.

Well, I think it's unfair that the movie which was supposed to be a solo movie of Carol Danvers is now not just about her, but still officially regarded as one. It's disrespectful that they removed her name from the branding.

I think by this move, Kevin Feige is bowing down to the sexist fanboys who hate Captain Marvel and Brie Larson for no real reason. They're trying to sell this movie to that target audience and I think it's really unfortunate.

No other superhero has got this treatment in the MCU till now. Civil War was still named Captain America: Civil War, and was regarded as a part of Cap's trilogy, although it had almost all the Avengers in it with Iron Man having almost an equal role to Cap. That was disrespectful as well, but at least Cap's name wasn't removed from the title

What makes it more sad is that till now, Captain Marvel was the only female superhero who was to going to have her own series in the MCU, as I doubt Black Widow would have a sequel. But now with this title change it's not gonna happen.

So that means Captain Marvel and Black Widow are going to be the only two female superhero films in the MCU until and unless a new solo project starring another female superhero is announced by Marvel.

I don't mind stories and characters of Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan being explored, but why do it at the cost of Carol? Give them their own solo movies or TV series, or make "The Marvels" an entirely different movie instead of calling it a Captain Marvel sequel.

I find this really sexist. Now all those haters of Captain Marvel and Brie Larson are gonna gloat about how her name is removed from the branding, and even if the movie collects a billion dollars, they're gonna disregard it saying that it's not really her movie....and sexist fanboys would give the excuse that since this was a team-up movie, female superheroes can't stand on their own.

Marvels, if they're all women is still a female superhero franchise and her name is still in the title as one of the Marvels.

I don't want to get into spoilers about Black Widow but that's a franchise that might continue.

Reportedly the leader (Jolie) of the Eternals and the main lead (Chen) of the film are both women.

They added The Wasp to the 2nd Antman - so not a first.

Wanda is going to be a part of Dr Strange and probably has her own film on the horizon since her TV show was listed as a mini series and not a limited series.

The TV series also have She-Hulk and Hawkeye coming up and if they use Miss Marvel, also a TV series for films they might be used as well.

They reportedly had Shuri down to be the new Black Panther but the actress went off the rails a bit so that's up in the air. My choice would be Okoye.

Wanda is going to be ruling marvel phase 4. Also, its hinted in black widow movie that there will be a new black widow ( likely florence character)

Why does this feel so woke-y 😆

Like they're only trying to fit agendas.

OT: the film could be named Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels.

I've never cared much for Miss Marvel, I've seen snippets of comics that look like she could be very controversial and woke.

I think you are reading too much into it the name change. Newer characters latching on to a successful standalone movie is nothing new with MCU. They have followed this template since the beginning.

Iron Man 2 had black widow being introduced

Captain America 3 was a full on avengers lite movie

Thor Ragnarok had Hulk in equal parts and introduced Valkyrie

Wasp shared the accolades in Ant Man 2 (also the name was added in the movie title)

Ms. Marvel will have her standalone series, so they are not going to waste time with her origin in The Marvels.

So this just seems like another movie by MCU to expand the second movie and kickstart their Phase 4 with a bang, post Black Widow.

Brie is going to run the show in the Marvels - that much is clear

Regarding the sexist fanboys - ignore those trolls. They are idiots and would find things to complain and criticise even if this move fits their sexist agenda

I didnt find Brie's comment offensive per se it was taken out of context by some idiots & blown out of proportion, despite some awkward IVs during endgame I dont mind her offscreen, my problem is she just sucks as an actress in this role (yeah I know she won an Oscar, Bafta etc...etc...)

As much as I enjoyed Captain Marvel its one of the better origin movies by MCU, the gaslighting plot, the skrulls twist, the madcap effects, young Fury😆 & Carol's sassy character but Larson's frozen turkey expressions just prevents to take everything a notch higher, she lacks the aura & likability factor big time for such roles (one of the biggest MCU miscast IMO) so yeah I am kinda glad they are going with "the Marvels concept" instead, Kamala girl looks like a really spot on casting, really looking fwd to blue Marvel inclusion.

And guess this massive snub to Captain Marvel & Brie Larson by the makers not to mention the Royal ignorance she received in Endgame lol well all this just further clears the air that Marvel is indeed passing back the mantle of MCU from RDJ's Tony Stark to Tom Holland's Peter Parker and rightly so (Spider-Man being their most iconic character of all time anyway😎) which is evident from the way 4th phase promo is cut as well, contrary to the much panned previous claims made by Feige regarding the Carol Denvers takeover. Bring it on😎

I meant it’s still Marvels with Captain Marvel being part of it so it’s hard to consider it a snub . That being said it’s hypocritical how much hate got Brie Larson got v/s how much Chris Pratt gets defended by Marvel stans and the actors .

They seem to be passing in the mantle to Dr Strange with the multiverse storyline and he is supposed to be a cameo in Spider-Man ( also he was supposed to have been in Wandavision ).

The comic Captain Marvel is a boring AF and one dimensional character , infact Kamala has better stories than her . I won’t be surprised if they added Monica and Kamala cos they couldnt figure out any good storyline for Carol
